Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Great friendly and helpful staff. Recommended 2 restaurants which were both excellent and we would never have found ourselves. Away from the centre of town but easy to get there.

United StatesI got the room with the bunk beds and regret not just reserving a regular room. Also, I tried laying on the top bunk and something was extremely wrong with the mattress on the top bunk (like a chunk of the mattress was missing)
The location of Imu hotel is excellent! Close to everything, or within walking distance. The property was clean, and the staff were very friendly and had great recommendations. I loved the breakfast, and I definitely missed having a breakfast included when I moved on to another city. As a solo traveler. I also liked that the hotel encourages people to hang out and be social with a happy hour

United KingdomI would have preferred more variety with breakfast options, but for a short stay, it was ok. The luggage storage is a bit non-standard: you can use a chain lock and fix your luggage to a bar, but it's occasionally unattended and therefore not quite safe (if you have a backpack).
Good size, clean and quiet room. Comfortable beds. Internet connection fully functional. Hot and cold water available in the lobby and also free sake for guests. Some staff members were very friendly.

LithuaniaIt can be changed, but, please, note, that rooms have really limited space. We had to rearrange the position of garbage can and night table, just so that we could fit in our luggage (vertical position). Hopefully the cleaning lady was not mad about it :D also, one of the twin rooms our friends were staying at, had a strong fish smell. I suppose the previous guests had a "fishy accident" and nobody cleaned the carpet thoroughly. But these were just small minuses, which really meant nothing considering all the positive aspects.
Breakfast was nice, location was ok (around 20 min on foot to Nishiki market area). The most appealing thing is free sake, as well as hotel bar discount for hotel's guests. Rooms are small, but that is to be expected in Japan. If you are a couple, I would recommend booking a double room loft, because you can leave your luggage on the upper bunk bed and save some space. Breakfast is really nice, although no meat included, unless you you really want it, you can pay extra. Each day you can choose one from 4 pre-decided breakfast options. Food was fulfilling and included vegetables. Staff had pretty good communicative English.

SwedenThe door isolation to the hall wasn’t so good. It’s not a party hotel, so it becomes quiet relatively early.
Location, location and location! Easy access to subway/buses and a walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Great breakfast and super nice staff.

CanadaThey do not offer one bed room for solo traveler. I had to book a bunk bed.
Staff spoke English and all you can drink sake? Should I go on? As a solo traveler it made it worth while because I got to meet other travellers who were visiting from North America and all over the world!

SwedenWe received phishing messages from this hotel on booking.com app. Not entirely sure if it is the hotel or the booking.com (or both) that lacks in cybersecurity. Definitely did affect the hotel experience negatively as it gave us unnecessary stress during our japan trip.

NetherlandsThe vibe of the place is quite "basic" and functional, don't expect something traditional.
Cosy and larger than average room (by Japanese standards) with a cute loft to sit and chill. Clean and spacious toilet+shower combo (the sink is in the room). Comfortable bed. Nice lounge.
