Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndonesiaNothing.
Surprised! Almost all stuff available there, from toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, clean towel, clean room, clean toilet, clean bathroom, clean shower, clean bed, small refrigerator. Satisfied. The best hostel in Okubo I think.

ColombiaThere are no staff members anywhere to be found. If you need any kind of help, you need to write to them through Booking. The rooms are also on the 3rd floor so if you have lots of baggage it might not be suitable.
The location is excellent. One stop away from Shinjuku by train. The place is clean and the rooms are a good size for 2 people. The hostel also allowed us to store our bags at reception super early the day we arrived. The check-in process was very easy.

JapanOverall, it was fine. Walls are a bit thin, so if you have noisy neighbours, good luck sleeping. Also our room had a lingering odor that would not go away even when I'd leave the window open all day to air the room out.
It was just good value for money. The name is fitting. I feel like it was a lucky find for that price in that location. The room was spacious enough. Bathrooms are shared, but clean. Overall it served its purpose.

PolandThe place could use a little cleaning. There were some cobwebs and dust, though the room itself was ok. The walls are thin, so I wouldn't recommend it to light sleepers.
The location was great, especially for the price.

SlovakiaCommon bathroom lacks airflow and gets a bit dirty when lots of people, team however cleans it regularly. Depends on guests staying in hostel it can be quiet or loud. Maybe more signs are needed for everyone to keep quiet.
We booked this property twice on our trip and we loved our stay. Common areas don’t look like much but the rooms are new, clean and spacious. Extra details like toothbrush, towels etc were nice touch. Self check in is possible if you arrive late, easy communication with staff. Location is great, right on top of Family mart and close to metro lines.

JapanSomeone outside of the hotel were talking very loudly around 4-5 am, but I dont think they were staying at the hostel. Dont think any people staying at the hotel were being loud. Bed might be a little small if you're 185cm+.
Good location, close to station, and good value for the price. There is soap & shampoo + more free for use in the bathroom. Good communication from staff regarding hostel location, access and key pick-up. 200 yen laundry machines also available.

CanadaIt's worth noting that Lucky Hostel presented its own set of challenges, notably the abundance of stairs. With three levels to navigate, each laden with luggage, the ascent could prove cumbersome for travelers burdened by heavy bags. While this may not be a fault of the accommodation per se, it's an aspect worth considering for future guests, especially those with mobility concerns or larger suitcases.
My stay at Lucky Hostel in Tokyo provided a mixed bag of experiences, with some notable highlights and minor inconveniences. One of the standout features of your stay was the self-service aspect, mirroring a trend seen in modern accommodations. From check-in to check-out, the hostel empowered guests to manage their stay independently, thanks to clear and comprehensive instructions scattered throughout the premises. This seamless process undoubtedly contributed to a stress-free experience, allowing you to focus on exploring Tokyo's vibrant streets and bustling neighborhoods. Furthermore, the hostel's round-the-clock accessibility ensured that guests could come and go as they pleased, regardless of the hour. This flexibility was particularly valuable for those looking to immerse themselves in Tokyo's renowned nightlife without the worry of being locked out upon their return. On the upside, Lucky Hostel's affordability and prime location near the train station offset some of its drawbacks. For budget-conscious travelers eager to explore the heart of Tokyo without breaking the bank, the hostel served as an excellent launching pad for urban adventures. Its proximity to public transportation hubs undoubtedly facilitated seamless exploration of the city's myriad attractions, making it a practical choice for travelers looking to maximize their time in Tokyo without compromising on convenience. In summary, Lucky Hostel offers a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking a self-sufficient stay in Tokyo's bustling metropolis. While the abundance of stairs may pose a challenge for some, the hostel's accessibility, affordability, and prime location make it a viable choice for those looking to experience the vibrant energy of Tokyo without draining their finances.

United KingdomBathroom area is quite small and they only have 2 toilets. Although this was not a problem for us but could get tricky when the hostel is busy. It's just the compromise to make to stay in a very good location.
