Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Australianothing not to not like
Rooms have opening windows and individual air cons. Although not huge, the rooms ate a good size for Japan and clean. Convenient to multiple bus stops and trains. Although no restaurant on-site, there are many food options very close by.

JapanThe front staff are friendly and speak great English, very helpful. The hotel itself looks nice, the room was a good size and the facilities were very clean. The cleaning service was great and the clean towels delivered to your room everyday were lovely. Location is also perfect, it's right next to the Hankyu station and very close to the Randen station. Lots of places to eat and buy food/goods nearby.

The hotel was located near the Omiya station. The family room was very spacious, and I liked there were 2 beds and 2 sets of futons available.

SingaporeNothing!
Recommended by my cousin who stayed last year. Elevator from Omiya station is just round the corner so no hassle with big luggages. Superbly friendly staff. We reached around noon and they allowed leaving luggages at lobby. When I mentioned a bag contains fragile item, the staff was very kind to bring it into a room instead of placing at lobby. Location is extremely good. Easy assess to Arashiyama, Karasuma for Nishiki and Kawaramachi shopping and Gion area. Supported by various bus numbers so easy access to other popular interest of attractions and Kyoto station. A big supermarket across the street, plenty of eateries. We patronised Nakau for economical supper and breakfast which is surprisingly good. Though further from Kyoto station, we enjoy the quietness and convenience and family room with tatami arrangements.

CanadaThe bedroom was relatively small (even for Japanese hotel standards) and so was the bed. Otherwise, everything was clean and pretty good.
The location is great, it's right next to most of the bus stops we needed to get to for almost any place we went to through o Kyoto. The Staff was very kind and accommodating.

JapanNo provided breakfast/food. For the price, I feel it would have been nicer to at least have some small things provided. Also, the walls were a little thin and I could hear noise from outside like repeated advertisement broadcasts and occasional street noise. I just slept with headphones on and this solved the issue but others might be more bothered.
Clean, very conveniently located. Room was very small but efficient. For my needs, where I was mostly spending time outside the hotel, it was adequate.

MalaysiaWhile Hotel M's Plus Shijo Omiya has its strengths, there are a few notable drawbacks. The most apparent issue is the room size. As with many Japanese hotels, the rooms are compact, but here, the space feels particularly tight. Guests with large suitcases or those staying for multiple nights may find it challenging to store their belongings comfortably. Another downside is the lack of on-site facilities. There’s no gym, lounge, or relaxation space, making it less appealing for those looking for more than just a place to sleep. The absence of these amenities gives the hotel a more "no-frills" feel. Surprisingly, even basic offerings like coffee aren't complimentary. Guests are required to pay for it, which can feel disappointing, especially when many hotels provide this as a standard amenity. For travelers seeking more spacious rooms, on-site facilities, or simple perks like free coffee, this hotel may fall short.
Hotel M's Plus Shijo Omiya is a well-situated option for travelers seeking convenience and comfort in Kyoto. Its location is a major highlight, nestled in the heart of Shijo Omiya with easy access to popular tourist spots, shopping areas, and dining options. The hotel's proximity to public transportation is a significant advantage. The Shijo Omiya Station (Hankyu Line) and Omiya Bus Terminal are just a short walk away, providing seamless connections to Kyoto's main attractions, including Arashiyama and Gion. Cleanliness is up to standard, with well-kept rooms and common areas. While the rooms are compact, they are tidy, with fresh linens and modern decor that creates a cozy atmosphere. Staff service is friendly and helpful. While communication in English is basic, the staff are patient and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. Overall, Hotel M's Plus Shijo Omiya offers great value for travelers prioritizing location, cleanliness, and access to transport.

BrazilSome hotels have space under the bed to store luggage and this helps a lot. Pillow could be softer as well.
Staff is always friendly and nice. The coffee downstairs is really good, although some hotels provide it for free (Ms plus charge 100 yen per cup). Location is super close to the subway and have good restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Shower is good, pj provided is comfy, bed is nice and comfortable. The room and quiet and we had good nights of sleep.

The only thing was, room has no heater so it quite difficult to stay in the room longer time, but understandable I visited during winter time when the weather is cold and dry

Czech RepublicThe location was good. Easy to get everywhere from Omiya. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The cleaning could be better. Found some hair and a lot of dust after my arrival. Then I didn’t really need cleaning (I usually use some disinfectant vipes and I’m good on my own) but it was a problem for some reason. Got a letter under my door cause I put do not disturb on my door. I’m working remotely so sometimes I sleep late because of the time difference. I wouldn’t recommend for longer stays. For few nights it’s alright.
