Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe location could have been better. And the price was a little too much for the experience delivered.
The experience was amazing. Very close to the authentic traditional experience. The dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed every bit of it.

United KingdomThe hotel was amazing and provided a closed and private stay for our time in Kyoto. The hotel itself consists of multiple private traditional townhouses - you could consider it more like a "compound" Each townhouse consists of two floors, a bed room/bathroom area, and a "living" space. On arrival the staff were immediately friendly and helpful, they explained how the hotel works and what facilities were available. The private bath in our townhouse's garden was the highlight of our stay! The photos don't do it justice!

SingaporeReally. There. Isn't. Anything. I didn't like! The entire experience was unforgettable.
It was an incredible experience. I think the entire concept was amazing! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They even refilled the drinks in the fridge after the first day, everything down to the beers. Location was pretty convenient with a bus stop nearby that could reach most important attractions.

United StatesThe hotel is beautiful and relax. The staff is very friendly and communicate well in English. We booked the breakfast, and my daughter is vegetarian. The team got her a beautiful vegetarian bento box which is very accommodating and beyond our expectation. There were also variety of drinks and beer provided in the room which was a nice surprise.

United StatesThough having to take the bus here with all our luggage was a hassle, there are ways to get around that too, like taking a taxi instead or having the bags delivered to the property. Also there is no on-site laundry, but, conveniently, there are a couple of laundry facilities just down the street. If anything, we did not like how fast our time here went by, we definitely wish we could have stayed longer. This property was amazing and we definitely want to stay here again.
I booked three nights at Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. for our stay in Kyoto and this place was an absolute treat. After arriving in Kyoto on the Shinkansen from Osaka, we were able to easily find the property after a bus ride on JR3 from Kyoto station and a short walk from the bus stop—the bus can get pretty packed, so having your luggage delivered to the property would be a great option if you don't want the hassle of bringing your bags around with you while on the train/bus and walking. We arrived early (around 11 AM) and check-in doesn't start until 3 PM, but the front desk staff checked and scanned our passports and allowed us to leave our belongings while we left to explore a bit of Kyoto. We were not able to return to the property until some time around 10 or 11 PM, which was past the scheduled check-in time of 3-9 PM, but the front staff still graciously checked us in. We were asked to take a seat in the waiting area and fill out some paperwork along with precautionary Covid forms for all guests. Once those were completed, a staff member came over with a property guide (which is also available to read through in the room) and patiently went over all the information in it with us. After the introduction, we were led down the hall to an automatic sliding door that opened up to the picturesque alley featuring all their machiya. At night the street is beautifully lit up and allows for a very dreamy stroll. Given that we returned so late, we were tired and dreaded having to carry our bags to the room, but we were delighted to find that the staff had already brought all of our belongings there for us. We took some time to explore our room and were very impressed with it all: - At the front entryway, guests are provided with sandals for walking outside and slippers for being inside the apartment. There is a nice hallway area featuring a coat hanging space and a standing mirror. The bidet toilet is located in a room in the hallway, complete with a sink.

LatviaThere wasn’t anything to dislike.
Clean, well organised interior and nicely restored street as exterior. Kind and very helpful staff that make you feel very welcomed, good suggestions about Kyoto and above & beyond service. Good location not too far from shopping district, train station and Kyoto central sight seeing but nice and calm neighborhood at the same time so the city is not distracting to enjoy amenities. Each day we were presented with different style of Japanese breakfast that represented really tasty Kyoto food as well as explanation and recommendations how to better mix each element. Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. is wonderful choice to stay in Kyoto to greatly expand your Japanese and Kyoto experience. Can’t wait to visit again.
