Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustriaIf you stay three nights, you are expected to check out every day at 10 am and check in again after 2 pm. This leads to a lot of queueing and avoidable waste (loungewear, disposable slippers) - so rather nonsensical.
Breakfast is available at one of two coffeeshops closeby, so of professional quality.

United KingdomI think it’s hard to keep the women’s area free of hair sadly, but it seems to get everywhere. Pillows are the hard kind (the Akasaka ones are the same style but much softer) and the toilets could do with hand towels.
The lounge was brilliant and it really helped having somewhere I could stay in and study in the hot weather. The showers are bigger than the Akasaka branch and the lockers are a more sensible size/shape.

AustraliaThe ''lounge'' is very small, and people use it for work or study. Don't book this place if you want to make friends as the loung is usually dead silent.

AustraliaNoise and movement from other capsules. If someone got out of their capsule, all the capsules shook. And not everyone followed the no noise or talking in the capsules rule. I was unable to get comfortable with the pillow too, it was very firm.
The experience of the capsule. Always wanted to try it. Was very clean. Lockers in woman area fit my suitcase and bags. Mens lockers fit a backpack and some clothes. The suitcase had a place underneath the locker to store it. Capsule was a good size, bigger than I expected.

GermanyOne significant challenge was communication with the staff. While they were friendly and willing to assist, the language barrier was quite prominent. Many non-Japanese guests, including myself, often struggled to communicate effectively with the staff. This could be a bit frustrating at times, especially when seeking assistance or information. Another issue was the crowded showers, particularly during peak hours in the mornings and afternoons. The limited space led to congestion, which was less than ideal for those looking for a quick and hassle-free shower experience. Additionally, the locker rooms lacked certain conveniences, such as seating, which would have made changing shoes or getting ready more comfortable. As a result, the locker room experience was not as pleasant as it could have been.
The capsule-like beds were surprisingly comfortable and provided a unique and cozy sleeping experience. They were thoughtfully designed, offering privacy and a peaceful rest.

FranceThe bathrooms are on a separate floor from the sleeping areas. The lockers are on a yet another floor. So you keep going from one floor to another to another. Your capsule doesn't have a power socket, only a USB charging, which is very inconvenient for charging stuff.
I was looking to experience what a capsule hotel feels like. The facilities are clean, the bed comfortable and the location was convenient. It suffices for one night but not for an extended stay.

IndiaThey can provide a tap for drinking water on the capsule floors. Was made to buy a bottle which I think is unnecessary given that Tokyo already has great drinking water on taps. The pod has USB charging facilities but not for the two pin plugs and type-c cable. The lady working that night was kind enough to let me borrow her’s for the night. There are restrictions about eating and drinking in the lounge after 10 pm. This could be extended to at least 12 am as most people staying here are travelers with varied schedules.
Location- it’s perfect if you are flying out from Haneda. The monorail station is just a short walk away from here. Facility- Everything is well appointed if you follow the rules. The shower, wash basins and storage are on the second floor (for men) and capsules on other floors. You have to do a lot of up and down the lift (using key card) while staying here. The place is clean and bright. The roof top working areas are very nice with great view of the Tokyo tower.

SwitzerlandYou can't visit Japan without sleeping in a capsule hotel, so I had to try: It was overall a nice experience. The bed is comfortable and the room was quite quiet. I slept very well (the highball bar in the area did help a bit:-) ). Your capsule can be closed with a curtain for added privacy and silence. Bags (mine was a Northface size L) can be locked inside a locker. Bathroom and showers are kept very clean and you're provided with a lot of amenities (pyjama, toothbrush, slippers, ...)
