Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesA little musky smelling, but that's par for the course in a hot/humid area.
Comfortable beds, usable kitchen, clean room and common areas. Great rooftop to enjoy dinner/coffee/drink and watch the sun rise or set.

FinlandI booked with short notice, so it wasn't the cheapest but still decent value for money. The staff was really nice and helpful and it was quite clean, however doors were quite stained and dirty around the door handles at least in the second floor. The laundry machines worked well and were easy to use. The toilets don't have hand soap and the nearest sink was two doors away in the shower room. The wall's are very thin and I could hear my neighbors snoring and talking really clearly. The room was clean, but had a weird smell despite keeping the window open. Shower doors and corners had mould, but otherwise it was clean.

GermanyWonderful small hostel in the middle of the Asakusa quarter. The walls are really thin, you should not talk on the phone in your room otherwise you disturb the other residents. Sadly some residents do not understand that and need a reminder. But otherwise wonderful :)

South KoreaCheap accommodation and clean facilities offset and forgive everything. If you stay here and have a lot of complaints or can't hide it, it's just that you're an overly demanding guest, and there's nothing wrong with this hotel. It's just great.
If you can find a clean one-person room with a bed near Asakusa Station in Tokyo Metro at an affordable price, you don't have to worry anymore.

BulgariaThe stairs were very narrow and right next to the hallway door, so it might be challenging with big luggage but it is manageable somehow.
Getting a private room at this price and this location is really unbeatable. The hostel is a bit worn off, but it has all you need - privacy, common room with kitchen with utensils, fridge, microwave, a terrace, washing machines. The bed was comfy. Very close to many transportation lines. My room was ready earlier so I could check-in earlier.

FinlandThe walls of the bedrooms are very thin, so you have to be careful not to be too loud; a normal conversation can be heard through the walls. But if you need to take calls or such, the common rooms work quite well. There is also no elevator, so it's a bit rough if you have large luggage and are not staying on the first floor.
The hostel is very reasonably priced and clean, and you get your own room to sleep in instead of a shared room. The location is fairly good. While it is not in the middle of Tokyo, the hostel is right by Sumida river, with only a couple minutes walk to closest stations, and around 10 minutes to Senso-ji by foot.

South KoreaThe wall is thin. I think someone was packing their bag infront of my room at 2am and i can hear that clearly. I can also hear the person next to my room snoring. Also i wish the bathrooms are cleaner. The bathroom are mixed female and male going in there barefoot feel disgustibg sometimes.
The price is super affordable for single room. So if you are travelling alone and hate the idea of staying capsule hostel this is a good option. The staff is kind. They need to change my room after the socond night and they helped with that.

United KingdomEven though you tell them what time you will be there for check in, you still need to call them! No matter how many times they emailed and you replied, still needs a call and a few mins wait. Lady though that checked me in, was sweet. You need to leave your shoes downstairs and use some slippers that are used by everyone’s dirty feet. They did let me take my very expensive shoes in a plastic bag in my room though which I appreciated. Mixed male female bathrooms but you can lock and be private while showering. Sometimes not enough slippers left at night if you come late. People can be noisy and walls are thin. Used my earplugs so it was ok. I saw some earplugs being provided downstairs( the cheap spongy ones). No reception and no staff. They operate on other accommodations around as well. Cleaners are expats in exchange for accommodation. Toilets are tiny and cold as windows are always open. But again it’s Tokyo and accommodation is more expensive than other cities, this was affordable and if it remains like that would book again.
Nothing special but for this price was either this or a capsule. Tokyo is more expensive so I can’t complain much. Bed was really comfortable, especially after the long walking days in Tokyo. Wifi was good. Easy to walk to 2 different metro station within 10 mins. Could see Sky Tower every day while going and leaving to/from the hostel.

TaiwanThe stairs are quite narrow and steep, which makes it challenging to carry large luggage. The regular check-in time is relatively short. Even after self-check-in, you still need to arrange a time with the accommodation to complete the check-in process. If you choose self-check-in, make sure to set aside time the next day to finish the check-in procedures with the accommodation.
The location is great, the room is clean and comfortable, and the facilities are easy to understand.

New ZealandBit costly from Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ikebukuro for an uber after the trains stop.
Great value for money. Would not recommend for working in the room as it's quite small. However, great place to stay if you are out all day and just need a good place to rest at the end of the day. Multiple subway stations/lines about 5 minutes away. Very close to Sky tree and Sensou-ji.
