Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Location is perfect, the spacious dorm beds feel like a little home, it's easy to meet new people, check in was easy, convenient store around the corner. Simply ticks all the boxes. We have had a very pleasant stay!

PhilippinesNothing really. Just set your expectations that it’s an old wooden establishment so every move you make can make some noise. But that’s one of the fun parts for me.
I like that the property is small enough so that guests can get to know each other. I was able to gain friends and hear their stories in the short time I stayed.

GermanyJust some small things, nothing 'bad': You are not allowed to take phone calls in the dorm (no matter the time), depending on the people who stay there it can be loud because it's an old building, sometimes you have to wait if you want to take a shower (there are only two) and getting hot or cold water is a bit of a gamble :D but all in all I really recommend this place, it's great to stay there
The bed with drawyer etc., the kitchen has cooking plates/refridgerator/toaster/mikrowave/hot water, the staff was very friendly and always helpful, next store less than a minute by foot, same with washing machine/dryer, great place to stay if you want to visit Asakusa, everything was very clean and smelled nice, late Check In was possible, storing bags after Check Out was possible (also hanging out in the common room/kitchen is okay), traditional house, very nice travellers to which you want to speak for hours :)

United KingdomFriendly place, met many people in the kitchen area. Staff are absolutely great and English very well. I'll definitely be staying again. Thank you! The capsule rooms are big enough to keep your stuff on the side, off the bed. Asakusa station is a 10 minute walk over the bridge. Akihabara about 40 mins walk.

JapanPlleeasseee add a shelf in the sink area upstairs - there's nowhere to put your toiletries other than the garbage can.
This hostel had a great location, and the pods for sleeping were a great size, and comfortable.

AustraliaI actually wish they had a larger locker for your stuff as the problem is always other travellers in this situation. I had to leave lots of stuff out and it’s “please don’t steal these” good faith sorta practice. mostly the clothes and the big travel backpack and misc stuff. there was a day I came back and the curtain covering my cubby bed was open (?). checked but nothing was taken.
so I booked late and went with this. the cubicle was actually quite big and was surprisingly so. the bed wasn’t too bad and there’s a little (emphasise on the little locker) for your possessions - so anything of value went in there. I was able to fit my laptop. it was not too bad in terms of location with a 10 minute walk to asakusa station. in terms of being located in Tokyo, probably not ideal but nothing waking up a bit earlier can’t solve. clean, quiet enough and the guests I saw were well behaved. didnt use kitchen or guest hang out space but it seemed nice and homey sorry no photos but would stay here again.

good value for an hostel in Tokyo. old house converted in a hostel which is cool. could of been loud but everyone was respectful. nice kitchen and hot showers. laundry and supermarket just around the corner. 10 minutes walk to the main metro station in Asakusa. you can help yourself with some umbrellas for the day if it rains which is super nice!

GermanyIt would get a bit too hot in the single cabins at night.
We really enjoyed the privacy, since there were curtains in front of each bed. The place was quiet and cosy. The kitchen was well organized and supplied. The location was fantastic, just walking distance from the Skytree tower! Asakusa subway station was just 10min away by foot.

United KingdomUnfortunately for the amount of guests the place can take, the kitchen and living room is a little small. I couldn't make dinner one night because the kitchen table was fully seated with people drinking and chatting. The table only seated 6 or 8. The living space was packed too, and the guests didn't move until gone 11pm. There's also just a couple of showers so that meant sometimes waiting. I could smell smoke in the bedroom from people smoking outside.
The staff were absolutely lovely and helped me with a lot of stuff. The location is good Asakusa is a bit out of the way but its in Sumida ward if you like Hokusai, and close to Sensoji. For everything else its a bit of a mish but the ginza line connects you to shinjuku and shibuya. The hostel was always clean and tidy. The bunks and really spacious so you can unpack a bit and have your own little room. Everything you need for cooking was there. The building is quite old and traditional so that's really nice.

Hong KongGiven the old structure, is very easy to make noise, but it's up to the guests to be respectful! Just bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Hostel in an old traditional house so facilities were essential but it's in a quiet location. The big luggage can be stored downstairs and there is a big combini nearby. Good to have a hanger to let towels dry in the room, instead of inside the bunk bed.

Comfy beds and big fat duvet. They are spacious pods so you can fit other things down the side of your bed, clothes, laptop etc. Good shower. Close to Skytree, Sensoji Temple. Nearest metro ten mins walk away. Good kitchen well stocked for cooking with a small supermarket two mins away.
