Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaSanitation was better than expected, but the whole house lacked sound insulation that whenever someone walks around you could hear it echo in the walls (plywood). There are only two showerbooths for about 12-15 (max25 ish) people staying. The mattress is very thin that my back hurt all day after sleeping in it.
It's the cheapest place you can find around Asakusa and the capsule is probably bigger than any other place you could get. The staffs are very considerate and willing to do their best to address any issues.

SingaporeLooked like a pretty old place but well maintained. Stairs were very steep and creaky especially if you're moving around at night, you may risk disturbing other guests, and not great if you're staying on the 2nd floor and bringing bulky and heavy luggages. Dorms on the first floor is very close to the common space so it's easy to hear people chatting at night. Best to bring earplugs just in case. The sliding door of the room slides over to the other single room beside mine, and it's a little loud so I was very conscious of trying not to disturb the other guest beside me. about 11mins walk from Asakusa Ginza station but do note that they don't have any lifts in the station to street level in case if you're carrying bulky luggage. Streets around the area near the hostel are very quiet and empty at night.
I booked 1 room for myself and the bed and comforter were very comfortable. Like any other hostels, I made new friends there as well, and the guests are usually hanging out in the common area together at night! Had a space for luggage in my room as well but do note that it's not lit if you're usually packing or looking for stuff at night! There's also a luggage space in the common area. There's hot water in the shower, and a towel, shampoo, soap, hair dryer were provided as well. Kitchen is also free to use for cooking, and you can store food in the fridge as well (but they have to be labeled). Sinks and toilets are available on both floors, and showers are on the 1st floor. Lawson & coin laundry was just right around the corner.

United KingdomThe mattress was old and made the sleep restless. Overall the place is a bit tired but works well. Unfortunately, had an unpleasant experience on my departure day in mix-dorm which left me a bit bitter but nothing to do with property or staff. Just another unpleasant man.
Was convenient in a nice area of Tokyo nearby a nice sento and lot of attractions. Facilities where practicle and clean. Space to put bag in the bed/box was convenient. Staff where nice and helpful

CanadaAltogether, everything met my expectations. It is a hostel after all, don't expect a luxurious experience.
Location was a bit far from the main Asakusa station and the Ginza line, but the price and hostel facilities were good value for money. Bonus: while the walk sometimes was a bit long, coming back to the hostel at night and crossing the bridge — the view of Tokyo Skytree is something I'll take with me after this trip.

AustraliaIt's a very small hostel which means there's not many guests and I think that has an effect on the atmosphere. A bit more quiet than I'd like. But with the size of the hostel there's not really much that can be done about that.
Very clean hostel. Beds were great too. Good location. Staff were friendly.

AustraliaThe host doesn't provide rented towels which are inconvenient. It was quite inconvenient too when I had to go downstairs and pass the common room to shower. I didn't like sleeping in the upstairs dorm because the stairs to go up were quite narrow and small. Likewise, it was challenging to go up there with a heavy backpack and suitcase. The stairs to go up from the ground to my upper capsule were also narrow and hard for my feet to get a grip on. At night the other capsule members were also loud and talkative. A rule should be implemented after 10pm to make it a silent space so others can sleep. The capsules weren't soundproof.
I like how it was close to Asakusa station. I like having my own capsule with curtains. The location was very convenient and my little capsule was nice and cosy with hangers, wall plugs, and my own cupboard to store items.

NetherlandsThe bed was uncomfortable.
Staff was friendly, the room was pretty big, and the bed had a bunch of extra room where you could keep your stuff. The kitchen/common area was nice and it had all the cooking basics you could use which was great. I met a lot of nice people there. Good vibes at this hostel.

FranceThe location is far from the main spots Hostel is very small, If you are more than 1m80 or 6feet, it might be tricky One day I could not enter at 6am because somebody locked the door from inside, I stayed 2 hours outside freezing. It happened the day after as well (fortunately not that late)
The people working there and the customers very respectful

United KingdomFound the lady who checked me in a bit cold and unfriendly. Just staring at her laptop and not saying hello to anybody . Gomez is very different . Shower rooms are really cold and need a heater Single Room 3 is very austere and depressing . There is wall paper peeling off the wall and the room urgently needs painting.. Worst of all the door from room 4 when opened slides across inside room 3 .It is really intrusive and disruptive. It wakes you up if you are sleeping . Occupants should be warned about this and it should be offered at a discount. When I told the other travelers about the door they could not stop laughing. The dorms are better, but there are better options in Tokyo
Other travellers. Big table in the kitchen is a good meeting point .

United KingdomBeds were comfortable and staff was friendly upon check in. This is a really good price for accommodation in Tokyo and it is obvious why, staff aren't around most of the time and it is a basic, very small hostel. Nevertheless, it served its purpose for two nights.

SwitzerlandThe women' bedroom has a table with random abandoned dirty things: ventilators, pieces of fabric, wooden old parts of furniture. This table takes the only free space for luggages and it is just ugly to see. Overall spaces are dark and not well ventilated. Common spaces are really small.
