Everything about the property was excellent. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean and spacious, the shared areas were really nice and the staff were excellent. It was the best place I stayed at in Japan as a solo traveller on a budget.

The room may be small, but it has everything you need. We stayed in a room with bunk bed and the beds were very comfortable. The motion-sensor light by the entrance was a nice touch! The front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Great location, very modern design, wonderful relaxation areas, a kitchen with everything you need to cook breakfast. Very comfortable beds. Showers and a bathtub are great, with gender separation, washing machine. I really liked it and will recommend it to my friends.

Very modern, open, bright with lots of common spaces, even a big kitchen with all the tools needed. Also very clean. Would definitely stay here again when back in Kyoto. The location is also extra central.

+ A nice stay in heart of town. We usually don’t go for hostels but decided to do so because it was peak season and it was the most affordable and had good reviews. We didn’t regret it. The facilities were fresh, modern and the bunk beds very spacious. Nice toilet and shower facilities too. Tasty ramen place right across the hostel! Staff was kind. You can leave your luggage after check out in locker room for free, until 8pm! - I guess it’s the risk you take when booking a dormitory and not the hostel’s fault but it definitely put a stain our stay, when a weird one shares the same room. This time we got someone who was coughing and literally spitting into something (?!?) on the bed next to me, for at least an hour or so at night. It was disgusting but thankfully he was only there for one night. Please be respectful when sharing space with others. There were no lockers for luggage inside the room, but small safes instead. It was enough for valuables only.

They did send a message saying of a Kyoto tax that isn't included in the booking price: For accommodation fees of less than 20,000 JPY per room per night, the accommodation tax is 200 JPY per person. Please note that the accommodation fee does not include the accommodation tax, and payment will be requested upon check-in. Interesting because another place I stayed in Kyoto didn't have this and I assumed they rolled it into the price. It is small. But not sure why it's not included in the actual booking price if the other place was able to do that.

Lots of staff at check in. They did inform of us of an event going on, so they have different things going on. I didn't know what to expect with getting a private room and private bath in a hostel. But it was much bigger than I thought it would be!! The sink is in the actual bedroom area and not the bathroom itself. Not ideal if someone is sleeping and someone is trying to wash their hands, wash up etc. It's convenient to the train stop but it's not "close" to Kyoto station. So depending on your schedule, you may want to find something that is closer to Kyoto station. Didn't try the paid breakfast. Overall I think I had low expectations and the place exceeded it.

I enjoyed the stay from the very beginning. The receptionist was super sweet and gave me lots of advice as to which places to visit in Kyoto. Everything was super clean and the common areas were super nice! Didn’t feel like a hostel at all, more like a nice hotel. The location couldn’t be any better, super close to all the good places. Would definitely come back! 10/10

Very nice location and ammenities. We sepparated a room with shared bathrooms, but we got an upgrade at the desk. The lobby is super cool and comfortable. Various board games to spend the time. Also the kitchen was incredibly nice and clean.

The bathroom on the east building is located behind the bar and common room. So it can be a little awkward to took a bath. The internet connection is SO bad when i stay there, to the point that it was unusable and i have to rely on my mobile data. Some of the staff while not rude but can be a little bit friendlier.

The location is very central and near Nishiki Market and Gion. It's also quite near from Maruyama Park The bed is comfy and i really like that every bed has blackout curtain which grants 100% privacy Towel is provided and the amenities is almost hotel like. So very good in my opinion. The bathroom is so clean and comfortable. There are free locker after you check out until 8pm, which can save you money if you plan to go around kyoto.
