Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe Hotel hallway smelled like cigarette smoke. The cleaning staff was very noisy. The bed was not comfortable. The bed felt lop sided, It felt like an uneven surface. The photos online didn't represent the room in reality. I made sure to advise a friend not to stay at the Hotel.
The location of the Hotel was excellent.

ChinaBefore we checked in.I read reviews that someone said the hotel was noisy because it faces the bar. When we were checking in, I told the staff that we needed a quiet room specifically, but the staff still arranged a room facing the bar for us, which was very unacceptable. Thought we changed rooms.i still thought the staffs were disrespectful

PhilippinesThe room has a traditional lock, but you're in Tokyo anyway so it's more or less safe.
The staff was excellent. The receptionist who served me from 2/7 to 2/9 was very friendly and tried her best to meet my needs. To be honest, I was a bit wary of booking this place because of the initial reviews, but I'm glad I went ahead because it's within walking distance from all the places I wanted to visit in Shinjuku. The room is fairly quiet and comfortable, and it has all the basic I needs I expect from the hotel.

We came back after a week and it was again so good! The room is not big but we 3 had a very good rest, very good shower, bed linen, WiFi , coffee and tea facilities. Again the people were so kind and helpful, keeping our luggage. And we could use the laundry at this time. We will come back for sure!

United StatesThere were only 2 things that I didn't like, but didn't affect my stay. The room was mostly clean except for a red drip stain on the wall and all the dust under the beds. The other thing was the size of the shower which was a little hard to maneuver in. It was a little loud at all times, but that's to be expected if you want to stay in that kind of location.... even on the top floor. It didn't bother me though because I'm a heavy sleeper
The hotel is in a convenient location, close to train stations, and has a friendly, accommodating staff. There are a lot of bars and eateries in the area. Just be aware that this is a lgbtq+ friendly neighborhood, and the bars reflect that. I just made a 15 minute walk to omoide yokocho or went to bars/restaurants around shinjuku station, which is about a 10 minute walk

FranceThe carpet stank horribly. Why do they even put carpets in hotel rooms? It's very unsanitory. I had to leave because of the smell. Hard bed. No sound insulation on the door. No breakfast available contrary to advertised. The immediate area is full of gay bars, very frequented at night and not the best frequentation (noisy, leaving tons of trash on the streets, smoking...). Thankfully its clean during daytime.
Friendly staff. They stay in a backroom so you don't have to greet them all the time, which is great for me, and they come if called to the front desk and are friendly and reactive. Free laundry. There was only a kind of stool in the room, so I asked for a proper chair and the provided me one.

SingaporeJust note that the windows are not able to open and the property is a little dusty. No breakfast provided.
It has everything despite it being a small room. Mini fridge, kettle, hair dryer, TV, toothbrush, comb, towel, soap, hand wash, room deodorant. Free coffee, tea on the first floor. Washing machine and dryer free for the hotel go-ers to utilise.

United StatesNothing! We were so happy with Pod Select!
The location can't be beat, the staff are friendly and helpful, great A/C and wifi and the price can't be beat. This is not a luxury hotel, the rooms are compact (I mean, it's no secret, it's called a pod hotel) but it's a fabulous choice if you're looking for an affordable option in the middle of the action.

JapanThe room is old with a hard mattress, key lock, stale smell, and not much in the way of amenities or security.
The room is big compared to other hotels at the same price. It's in the heart of Tokyo's gay district, as well as the main metro hub.

United KingdomUnfortunately appears to now be offering 'love hotel' style hourly rates. Hopefully this doesn't drag the quality of the hotel down.
Basic accommodation in a small business-style hotel, but with a pleasing amount of small extras to make your stay more comfortable. Rooms clean. Front desk was always friendly and helpful. Perfect location for Ni-Chome and right beside the subway. JR Shinjuku is about 10-15 minutes walk. Conbini right around the corner.

LithuaniaWe absolutely live everything about our stay in Pod Select!! The location is the most perfect part of Shinjuku!!! So walkable to the Kabukicho gate, Omoide Yokocho, the national gardens ect. The staff was very welcoming, and when my husband suddenly was in needed for a dentist care, one of the staff girls tried calling some clinics and in the end walked us in the rain towards one of them. We appreciate this extra mile so much!!! The room size as everywhere in Japan is very small, but we managed perfectly, you just need to be very precise and systematic :D But I should probably mention that if you're one of those travellers with 2-3 massive size luggages, there's no way you'll have space to open it or even fit it all in the room, it's a pod size after all. We loved how comfy the bed and pillows were. Good ventilation, a kettle inside the room and a microwave in the lobby area. Also, they provided free toiletries like moisturizer, shampoo, shavers, toothpaste ect. Overall we loved our stay in here and would love to come back one day, thank you!
