We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe breakfast was terrible. Only one small cup of coffee allowed and breakfast was a white bread cold sandwich.
Rooms were beautiful, extra room, nicely done.

AustraliaThe rooms are small and lack space for luggage, there’s also no window for fresh air. Amenities advise that there is a complimentary bottle of water available each night but there were never any available downstairs.
Simple self check in and close to a local station for sight-seeing. We had a twin room and amenities are available downstairs (toothbrush, pjs, washcloth, hairbrush, razor!) and laundry room is available with a simple breakfast each morning. The room was quiet and comfortable for the purpose of our trip.

JapanIt may need a little transfer from the Kyoto station. Additionally, it would be great if the property could provide more amenities during the stay. Some of them needed to be requested while other properties would normally provide in the room.
The room is very spacious so there would be no problems with the large luggage. There are lockers inside the hotel for the luggage deposit which is very convenient and feels so secured.

AustraliaYou couldn’t call the front desk to ask for anything. The breakfast that came with it was not great. My friend and I took 2 bites of the food and got 7/11 food instead. Drink option was only coffee or tea. If you wanted anything additional like tea or dessert, you have to pay for it. In terms of value for money, we paid close to $400 for 1 night on a Sunday(off peak season in Nov). For the type of hotel, I’d say it wasn’t worth the price. I would pay max $250 for this.
Hotel was clean, the check in process was automated by the machines so there are usually only 1 staff occupying the front desk. You could store your luggage in the luggage box upon arrival. The room has enough space for 2. Showers and toilets are seperate which is an interesting concept.

PolandVery rude and unhelpful staff. It is not possible to send luggage from the hotel, which the hotel does not inform about on its website. Very poor breakfast, better not to have it at all. More of a snack than breakfast. I was with a group and breakfast was important to us. Fortunately, we could have a normal breakfast in a neighboring hotel. I would never stay in this hotel chain again.

PolandI was traveling with a group of 12 people, the hotel had a terrible breakfast, listed as free breakfast. We didn't care about a free breakfast, but a decent one. After arrival, it was not possible to pay extra for a richer breakfast (maybe it was better, because the "better" breakfast was equally hopeless). Ultimately, we bought breakfast in the hotel next door and it was ok there. Very unfriendly staff, it was not possible to drop off luggage from the hotel (there was no information about this, knowing that I wouldn't have chosen this hotel). We were refused to order a taxi. I will not stay at this hotel again.
Hotel in a good location, clean room.

CanadaSome staff seemed rude and were not willing to help, seemed disinterested and dismissive to our concerns and requests for amenities. The hotel does not provide luggage forwarding unlike other hotel franchises and did not try to help. The bidet frequently does not work. The complementary breakfast was not satisfactory.
Close to a metro station and walkable to kawaramachi area. Place is modern and clean.

SingaporeThe room lay out was a bit cramp, it was a small corner room. the air-conditioning blowing directly from the top., don't like it. The room was a bit Dusty. The housekeeper mess up my room when she cleaned the room. There wasn't enough hooks or shelving to place my toiletries. Free breakfast was so so or not good. Would be better if there is a self help free coffee machine.

United KingdomBreakfast was extremely disappointing and bland. One of the main reasons I wanted to stay in this hotel was because they offered breakfast, but it was just two small loaves of bread and cold runny eggs. I'm a vegetarian and I found it super hard to find breakfast in the morning in Japan, I had to keep purchasing it outside of the hotel. Some simple croissants and orange juice would've sufficed if Prince Smart Inn had provided it. The fire alarm went off at 6am, and I found it surprising they didn't do a checklist of all the guests. It felt very disorganised and no one informed me when it was safe to go back inside my room.
Location was really good. Room was bigger than I anticipated, which was perfect. Really comfortable stay.

United StatesThe nighttime male staff member was so rude and inhospitable. I asked a simple question and he gave an answer that came off as more an inconvenience for him to answer. He also pulled laundry out only after it had finished by no more than 5 minutes and the other machines were empty. I went to retrieve my clothes and he was in the process of removing them. Very strange./
The daytime women staff were amazing, very friendly, and very helpful. The location and easy access to so many food places.

United KingdomThe breakfast was too small, really wish they had a little bit more. It was laughably small - there wasn’t even a full spoon of jam on the plate. Also not sure what was going on but the staff were too worried about people taking more than one bottle of water per person. An easier way to resolve that would have been to keep the bottles directly in our room instead of asking people to take it from the reception.
Best thing was that it was a much larger room than the average Japanese hotel. Extremely clean as well. Good location, close to a station.
