Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaAtmosphere feels more like a hostel. Double room was very small. Carpets really worn.
Very kind to provide a packed breakfast as we had to leave very early.

AustraliaGood location although space is small and room gets very hot with the blinds open as direct sunlight. Bar and common area on ground floor close early and can’t be used after that.

AustraliaIt was a little bit of a walk to the stations (10min) but there were a few options, so a few lines available.
Great location, close to good food options. Lots to see and do in the area. The staff were very helpful.

AustraliaWebsite (and other accommodation booking sites) need to show photos of the “economy “twin” room. It is nothing like the photos of the rest of the hotel. It was old and outdated, not dissimilar to a shabby pub room. Was totally blown away that the room even existed given the style and class of the rest of the photos displayed on the hotel’s website. This is deceptive and shouldn’t be allowed. Extremely disappointed, the worst of my hotel stays in Japan.
Breakfast great and very personal being individually cooked for.

United StatesThe lights and fan in the bathroom were strange and always on but instructions said not to turn off to prevent fire? The bed was comfy and it was nice to have a balcony. Elevators were super slow but worked great. It was a bit funky and unique, but not sure we would book again. It’s an experience! The staff were great! They have varying degrees of speaking English but they are used to foreigners. Thank you!
We did not have breakfast as we didn’t have the option through booking.com but there are so many places to eat in the area. Only thing is hours were funny but it was still fun to walk around Sensoji and Asakusa. We just needed a place for a night in Tokyo and it was a good option. The bathroom was very small but clean. The heat warming toilet seat was very nice in the winter.

United StatesMy room layout was very awkward, and VERY hot. Almost 26 degrees. Night staff couldn't communicate in English, or turn on air con. Suitcase didn't fit under the bed, like so many other tiny Tokyo hotel rooms. I had to rearrange furniture. Alot of dust on TV, which redeposited immed after wiping. Suitcase on floor was covered in dust when I checked out. Dangerous step up to bathroom, almost 12 inches
Great vibe at check in. Attached coffee shop and lounge were cozy. Bed and pajamas were wonderful. Decor was upbeat and tasteful.

ItalyYou couldn't switch on the room lights next to the door. You had to climb over the beds in the dark to switch on the lights. The staff were not able to give me one additional pillow when I asked for one. We were not allowed to sit next to the hotel bar if we did not consume anything.
Modern hotel and rooms. Location directly in the Asakusa quarter was very good.

United KingdomBiggest complaint is the AC unit was directly above the bed, to one side. This meant the AC air (which unfortunately does not smell like a fresh breeze!) would blow onto you regardless of what "angle" you set the unit to blow at. We were here in the winter, so it was cold without the AC, but with the AC too hot. I do not understand why the unit was placed there of all places. In addition, the bed was small and bathroom quite dated. Hotel decor tries to be a bit quirky, not quite our thing but inoffensive.
Inexpensive option & cool neighbourhood

United KingdomThe room itself was not particularly clean (and I’m not generally fussy), had some wires hanging out of the wall where plug sockets were. Provided multi plugs in the room but its didn’t work so used our own. The shared bathroom was clean with good free toiletries and plenty of clean towels.
Good location in Asakusa, 5 min walk from sensoji temple. 10ish min walk to metros depending on which one. Reasonable price for Tokyo but bear in mind that there are shared bathrooms (individual showers allocated to each room but in the bathroom area down the corridor from the room). It is essentially a nice hostel with private rooms, posing as a hotel. Comfortable beds (but quite soft). Staff helpful. Large storage locker in room.

United KingdomOur expectations were managed regarding the separate, shared bathrooms, but it wasn't clear that we would have no option to have breakfast in the hotel and we were teased by the fact we had to go through the breakfast room to get to the showers!
Staff were so lovely and helpful. Rooms were simple but bed was very cosy. I liked the provision of toiletries and towels you could help yourself to. There's coin laundry available and a nice bar/cafe downstairs to hang out in. It's also in a really nice part of town, but not noisy outside.

SpainThe windows are gigantic, but there are no blinds, so you wake up at 5am with the sun shinning on your face. Also, the room becomes an oven pretty quickly, one time we got back and the room was at 36ºC (in November). We complained about this and when we got back we had to small towels taped to the windows, that covered around 10% of the whole window. It sounds like a Monty Python skeet, but it isn't. The place looks nice and modern, BUT: the TVs are the slowest you can find, youtube worked one click every 15 seconds, when I complained about this, they said: oh, sorry! and that was it. The staff barely spoke any english, only the manager did and he was only there for a few hours in the morning. Overall, big room, but uncomfortable as hell.
The rooms are big for Tokyo standards.

United KingdomThe hotel felt unsafe. I was told the stairs were kept locked which is super dangerous if there is an earthquake. When I enquired about this they said they would collect guests in an earthquake which I know from experience is infeasible. There was a damaged plug socket hanging out of the wall which was also dangerous. Water was pouring out of the air conditioner unit. The beds are not beds but two mattresses stacked on top of each other. Overall a very uncomfortable stay.
Location was good.

AustraliaOur rooms felt as if we had ordered a hotel room off of Shein. The beds were very squishy and not great. The shared bathrooms weren't a big issue as we had allocated shower rooms. The rest of this hotel is amazing so I suggest you don't opt for the economy rooms like we did!
The location is convenient. The staff are super lovely. From check in to breakfast to checking out. You won't want to miss the super cute and filling breakfast. We rented a bike (free) and cruised around Tokyo at night with no worries.

United KingdomThe room was the smallest we've had in our two week Japan trip and not very clean (see photos). The carpets were stained as well as the walls and the toilet wasn't clean. The room was dusty (see photos). It very cramped inside the room with two people.
Friendly staff and you can leave your luggage. Only a few minutes walk to Senso-ji temple with numerous restaurants, shops and cafes nearby. Breakfast was really good.
