Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandThe only downside which is really minor i can think of is accessing the upper bed, the steps are kinda hard, i believe soft material put on the steps would fix that minor issue :) other than that the hostel is completly perfect!
Bathrooms were very clean all the time, staff made sure its shining! Shower cabins were comfortable to use. Toilet was also always clean. Staff was able speak very very good english and they were really kind and understanding (we were almost late for the check in, they contacted us and understood our issue). Beds were comfy, clean and pretty big. A/C worked well. We also got free donuts once! Hostel is located in quiet alley with pretty quick access to Akihabara JR station (like 10-15 minute by foot). Place is nicely looking and inviting! Worth staying there, highly recommend!

IsraelA day before my stay I was notified that the curtain on my bed is broken and will need to stay down at all times during my stay.. it was a bit uncomfortable to get in and out of the bed because of that
Great place that offers a big and comfortable lounge and fully equipped kitchen. They have a coin laundry machine that was very helpful and they offered donuts and coffee/tea for breakfast every morning

BelgiumWe were expecting breakfast, which was only a donut, which wasn't to everyone's liking. I understand that it's only a donut at this price point, but it shouldn't be advertised as breakfast. The substructure of the beds were already a bit deformed, so sleeping comfortable was hard.
Employees were really nice and speak English very well. The bunk beds in a private room give alot of privacy, so I could barely notice my friend was in the other bed. Atmosphere downstares is very nice.

DenmarkWe got the big room for 8 persons. It was stated as with futon beds on the floor. But it was only 10 mm sleeping pads like the ones you use in a tent when camping. Other than the hard sleepign pads, it was a really nice. The breakfast were some donuts. While they were good quality, they had been frozen and were quite dry. Give them a spin in the microwave owen, og dip them in your coffee to get through them.
Location is quite central in Tokyo an still in a fairly lazy, quiet neigbourhood. Midway between the SkyTree Tower, the imperial garden, and the area with all the skyscrapers. If you can do some walking it is a great base to start from.

United StatesThe wifi could be a little spotty sometimes during the night, and while this could be a little annoying at times, ultimately it was no big deal.
The staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating, speaking both Japanese and English. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, with lockers in the dorm big enough to store your backpack and any other valuables. The dorm also has capsule style beds with privacy curtains, which is nice. Breakfast in the morning was a huge plus as well, doughnut with as much coffee and/or tea as you'd like! The bathrooms were also very clean and well-kept. The location is also amazing, the outside is quiet, and it is only a short walk to the heart of Akihabara. With the train station nearby you can get to Shinjuku, Yoyogi, Harajuku, and Shibuya with ease. If and when I find myself travelling to Tokyo again, I'd love to come to Cocts Akihabara again! Overall, just a great experience for a first-time backpacker and solo traveller.

United States- At check-in we were told that if the bathroom on the 2nd floor (where our room was) was full, we could use the one on the 3rd or 4th floor. The clerk didn't tell us that the 2nd floor bathroom was for women only, and we were three guys. so we had to go up a flight of stairs every time we needed to use the bathroom, kind of annoying when you get up to pee in the middle of the night. - the aluminum rungs used to climb into the upper capsule are very hard and painful to bare feet or just socks, so you have to wear slides and take them into the capsule with you. - as many others have noted, the light in the capsule is extremely bright and could use a dimmer. Also, only one outlet in the capsule, so come prepared.
cool vibe, very quiet. bathrooms were very clean. Futons very comfortable. Inside the room for 3 ppl we had two capsules and a platform for a futon. The capsules are surprisingly roomy, and provide great privacy and storage for all of your stuff. Air conditioning was awesome, really great! and the showers in the common bathrooms were also fantastic. good pressure.

JapanThere were some very loud partying Japanese speaking guests in a nearby room, I had thought of telling them to shut the —- up but decided not to. but that is not the hotel’s fault.
Quiet location near loud and noisy Akihabara, amiable front staff, nice amenities in the bath area. Capsules are ok, but no dimmer switch so it is quite bright. There was a rather small library of travel magazines to peruse, and a book exchange rack.

United Statesthere were one or two bugs crawling around inside the room. Not that big a deal but I was in quite the shock when I woke up and got to see a spider only an inch away from my face. The sign out time felt a bit early too.
It was a unique experience that allowed me and my friend a restful night sleep without having to feel like we were staying in out old college dorms. Beds were comfy, location was great and service was excellent.

GermanyAvoid political topics - the entire staff is quite far left even by western standards. The size of the capsule rooms, 12 beds, is challenging considering this is right next to one of the biggest entertainment areas of Japan; or to put it differently, "hell is other people".
The hotel is located right next to Akihabara - 5 minutes by foot, tops. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The facilities are clean and functional. The provided lockers are serviceable and security in general is valued.

United KingdomWould be nice to have more breakfast options available on site, but not the biggest deal. I'd really like there to have been 2 plugs in each pod or even a few USB charging ports in the pod, as many international visitors wouldnt need adaptors then.
Really liked how modern the place was and the facilities were really clean and well organised. Liked the shared areas especially the provided toiletries. Very up to date and beautiful design throughout. Felt like a cool place to be. Shared kitchen great too. Great location and super friendly and chilled and helpful staff, really made my stay smooth and pleasant. The pod rooms were lovely and quiet with a good blackout blind for privacy and even earphones. Extra bonus is the breakfast available and the on site salad bar, or there's nice restaurants and konbinis really close by. Again, the staff were excellent and made it feel so friendly and welcoming throughout!

United KingdomHad to pay for towels at site - would rather this was an option when booking (the cost is no issue!)
First of all the staff are 10/10 here. They made us feel so welcome & relaxed + that really fit with the vibe of the hotel. A big thank you to the lady (sorry for not getting your name!) that helped us book dinner at a restaurant one morning too <3. The room we stayed in was pretty basic (queen size bed + Aircon) but it's all we really needed as there is so much to do / see / experience in Tokyo. The coffee + donut for breakfast every morning is such a sweet and appreciated touch and really helps with waking up before going about your day. There is a social lounge area on the ground floor that you can eat & drink in, either by bringing your own stuff or ordering from the kitchen within the hotel. Would love to have stayed longer with more time in Tokyo and to chat to the staff there about life in Japan, but we had to move on for the rest of our holiday. Tl:Dr - Really great location & wonderful staff for a reasonable price in Tokyo with great transport links nearby.
