Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaIt was really noisy from the street noise and too bright there were no curtains or blinds just the traditional paper shades so had a hard time sleeping. The pillows were too small and uncomfortable for both my wife and I. The kitchen had no knife or cutting board and was freezing because the window was stuck open. I get it was a traditional style ryokan but it was so drafty everywhere except in our room where we could crank up the heat. Internet didn't work the first day we stayed either. The front door lock was really touchy and would work for me unless I hit the buttons really hard and just a quick tap. Only took me ten tries to get in and only worked after the second or 3rd try after I figured that part out. No one ever answered the door bell when I couldn't get in. I don't think there are any full-time staff there.
location was great it was all we could afford

New ZealandCould do with some more cutlery and utensils in the kitchen. Rooms are very light at night so bring an eye mask if this bothers you.
Great location, awesome opportunity to experience a tatami room and lovely lady who looked after us. Facilities good, plenty of hot water. Bath house just up the road. Rooms warm with own Aircon unit. View of the Sky Tree incredible! Loved having a kitchen, washing machine and drying area available for guest use.

CanadaThere was a very bad smell coming from the floors of our room. Being that we don’t usually sleep on tatami mats, we initially thought it was part of the realistic Japanese experience. But as the day progressed and we spoke to other guest we realize the smell was getting stronger and the other rooms did not have this smell. The smell become more of the smell go a decaying animal. Perhaps caught under the floor. Now thy we see him we realize our luggage and clothing and gifts we got for others have absorbed this. I so think this is a good value property. But we should have spoke more urgency you.
Great locations, very nice owners, building and facilities were almost perfect for a low budget Tokyo trip.

India1. Second floor has bad smell. Probably because of fish shop outside. It was very difficult to stay in that room for 1 night. When our room was changed 4th floor, we had did not face this problem. 2. In awe of large luggage difficult to to take to forth floor on steps. 3. Bathrooms and toilets provided are not attached to room. It is a shared facility. It is sufficient in number and well maintained if you are ok without attached bathroom. 4.Dressing and mirrors are also shared and not available in room. However, dressing is attached to one of the bathroom where one can get ready.
Walking distance to Oshiage station. Clean and all facilities are in good condition. Owner was supportive and changed our room after 1 day based on our request. Very silent peaceful place for family to stay. No any disturbance.
