Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanBreakfast has salad、bread、coffee、orange juice, and you can broil bread to make it taste better. If you buy some dinner or late night meal back to the hotel, the 1F lobby has a Micro-wave oven, You can use it. Location was near to 京都市役所前 station, and close to FamilyMart、7-ELEVEN, You could walk past the Nijō Bridge, turned to the left was Lawson over there. The room was awesome, bedside buttons were easy to control every room light, and heating made the room warm.

United KingdomGenerally tired and old. Room was small for the price and the bathroom was rather dated.
Staff friendly and helpful, decent facilities including vending machines and laundry room. Good quality air purifier in room. Possibly the best working air-conditioning I had in Japan hotels.

ItalyThe room was a bit smaller than expected; the photos are a little misleading. Otherwise, everything was excellent. We had hoped that breakfast would be included since it’s a hotel, but unfortunately, it was an extra charge.
We didn’t try the breakfast, but it’s available for 700 yen per day. With so many bakeries and convenience stores nearby, we ended up having breakfast out every day. The location is truly fantastic—you can even walk to Pontocho! For those who enjoy walking, several beautiful temples are also within reach. Plus, the metro is nearby, making it an absolutely ideal location.

Swedenrooms were very small and lacked space to store/hang clothes. breakfast was a bit odd with only sallad + croissants, coffee and juice. adding some yoghurt + muesli and boiled eggs would be an easy upgrade.
clean and new, big window, helpful staff that recommended and printed out locations that offered gluten free breakfast.

PolandBreakfast...it's not actually a breakfast just a salad with some bakery. Better save your money and have sth in 7/11. I hope the administration will take it into consideration. I saw many similar reviews.
The neighborhood is quiet, convenience store is just 2 min on foot, bus stops 7-10min. The room is regular size for Japan (small to other world), cozy and clean .

JapanIt's not really the hotels fault but the family room next to mine was incredibly loud. Maybe they should sound proof those rooms or ask groups to party in the lobby and not in the room.
A few steps away from Kamogawa river, everything feels new and clean. The water pressure in the shower is amazing and the shower head has many settings.

BrazilI didn't like the breakfast. Too poor. Few options. No fruits or proteins.
The room was with a nice space and the amenities were pretty good. The service was nice and it's located in a quite space of the city, that in my point of view was good.

United StatesThe room was hot when we got there at 3pm check in; it was 100 degrees in august and they left the AC off. They only would clean the room every three days, and whenever they did they turned the AC down so that the room was hot when we got back. It was really irritating because we were dealing with pretty extreme heat stress. I also wish they had provided more than one pillow per person. The Wi-Fi was finicky, and the laundry facilities were unavailable. The drink machine was sold out of drinks.
The bed was very comfortable.

ItalyThe room was quite small for the european standard; the flashing of the toilet went on way to long and there was too much light peeking in the room from sunrise. The breakfast was quite poor, with only a small selection of bread.
The location was advantageus, near the Castle and the main street. It was easy to reach the Kyoto Station and the subway. The staff was nice, however they did not speak english. The pain aoux chocolat for breakfast was good.

Ireland* The whole hotel and staff felt quite tense. * The location is a fair walk to the centre (about 20 mins, but managable). * There is a nice seating area adjacent to the lobby, but this isn't allowed for use by guests any time except the breakfast. The toiletries were located in the foyer instead of guest's rooms, and it felt awkward to take anything. * Staff said they couldn't loan us any cutlery from their kitchen (to help us eat a bit of fruit) b'cos it's a "safety risk" which made us feel unwelcome and troublesome; although some of the staff were lovely.
* The location is quiet and felt safe. * The room has nice interior decoration, but the windows don't open and the view felt very grey (even though benefitted from the neighbour's 1 story traditional dwelling); but plugs are. very good, and the hotel provided hand sanitiser. * The staff were helpful with getting a taxi and loaning umbrellas in the rain.

SingaporeI was rather amazed that the whole hotel operated under one mode, either heating or AC. On the day we went (end-Mar so it really wasn’t freezing cold), it was on heating mode and we were boiling in the room (even felt unwell due to the heat). Staff were very apologetic but the duty manager was rather curt and did not bother to even find any solution for us. After a long round of discussion (difficult especially since we couldn’t speak Japanese nor they English) which was rather pointless since all they said was: “there’s nothing we can do”, we found our own solution by getting them to open the windows (they’re locked) so wind can flow. Had to beg them to keep the windows open for us tho and we could tell how irritated they were. when we booked this hotel, it was highlighted that there were both heating and AC (in their website as well) so we felt rather cheated. affordable room but terrible service and experience (mainly from the duty manager that served us, everyone else was alright). overall this was the worst stay I’ve ever had in Japan. you can do better finding somewhere else!
The property was new and rather aesthetically pleasing.

Estoniathe internet connection was abysmal. there was a sign up apologising for it, but really there’s no excuse nowadays for internet that will not even connect a lot of the time. also felt very dismissive when I asked the reception staff a question in Japanese, only for the woman to run and get a foreign worker to deal with it (who looked like he wasn’t even clocked in).
it was close to central, nice looking, comfy bed

United StatesWe were three expletive in a quadruple room. There was not enough room to hang clothes and there was no closet, just two brackets coming out of the wall. Same with places to hang towels in the bathroom. There were a couple of drawers of adequate size.
Peter, one of the people at the front desk, is from Wales and was very helpful. While some of the staff didn’t speak English, we were able to use Google translate to communicate. The hotel is walking distance from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and close enough to train and bus stops to make it a convenient location. There is a good French nearby in case you get tired of Japanese food.
