Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The Staff were incredibly rude/unhelpful, the beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are small, everything in the room is controlled by an ancient android tablet that constantly stopped working, the layout of the room doesn’t make any sense, the cleaning is very hit or miss, and the rooms are disgustingly over priced.
Relatively close to Tokyo station (15 minute walk)

I wanted to stay somewhere with a Gym - there was only a treadmill and a bike and one was out of order. Would not have stayed if i knew the facilities.

Impersonal service, dirty walls in the toilet. Door stop hidden under the mat was a serious trip hazard. Public bath was filthy.
Bed was reasonably comfortable and room size okay. Location quite close to main shopping area and walkable to Tokyo station.

Onsen on level 2 doesn’t seem clean - I saw few bugs were floating around (water flea…?) It was my first time using onsen/bath
2nd time back - I loved this hotel for location, value and vibe (modern, young). Overall had a good stay again and my friend really rated high compared to other hotels she stayed at near by.

We had stayed in the Square hotel in Kanazawa and loved it. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had. Tokyo seemed like a different hotel

The room is a bit small.
The room is clean and tidy and comfort, 10 minute walk from Tokyo station. It located in Ginza, which is closed to Ginza commercial area.

A quick walk from the tube. The hotel was clean and modern with a bar downstairs. The bed was comfortable and the shower hit and powerful. Everything you needed was provided towels, toothbrush etc. Easy check in and out. Great one night stay

Extremely limited options for breakfast for what we paid. Serving equipment was paper and plastic - not hotel quality! This is more for a takeaway kiosk. Toilet was on one side of the room and bathroom was on the other side - an inconvenience for us. Not something you can fix. Corridor heating near the lifts was always turned on way to hot. Poor choice of colour for wall paint in the corridors - makes the place feels very dark, mysterious and dingy.

I lifted up the bed sheet and saw hair all over the mattress. The gym is so isolated that I felt too unsafe working out there

The location is not so close to the affordable malls and restaurants, But its Ginza.
Very clean and stylish room and facility. It's pretty spacious room for Japan standard. The onsen is super clean and comfortable.

The beds were firm like a lot of countries in Asia. Just don't expect a plush western style bed. If you go in knowing what to expect you wont be too disappointed.
The location was great. Easy walk to many subway stations. Also right around the corner from the main strip of Ginza and so many yummy restaurants. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, even using google translate when english wasn't strong. The rooms was cleaned pretty well. I did find a hair or two but i places that can be easily missed during cleaning so it didn't bother me too much. Appreciated that they did a room refresh every days since we had a 4 night stay.

Not very customer focused. For example, I wanted some water at 6.45am and they said I need to wait till 7am for the buffet to open. The water was there, they didn’t want to help. Also very expensive for the size of the room on offer.

The smallest rooms we have ever stayed in, but modern and nicely designed. Breakfast was not really a breakfast, more like a snack served on the bar counter for you to bring to your room since there was really not room for you to sit anywhere.
