Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsGreat comfortable place for a family of 4. Very kind host and made sure we had all we needed. LOTS of amenities. The location was also great, just a 5 minute walk to Asakusa St. and very quiet. It actually felt a bit more spacious than in the pictures as well.

AustraliaThis inn was very cosy and felt like a traditional Japanese home. It was clean with modern technology. The location was lovely, very close to Asakusa shrine and we walked passed Tokyo sky tree and Sumida river every day on the way to the station! The innkeeper explained everything and left his bikes for us, all facilities provided and even provided a fridge full of free snacks and drinks!

United StatesThe location was good but not great. 7-Eleven was about a 7 min walk away. Subway and dining options were about 10 min away.
Wonderful place! Very spacious compared to other options in Tokyo. Slept four very comfortably. Very gracious generous host. Lots of free snacks and drinks.

United KingdomIt is tucked away so you will have to be OK walking ten minutes from the nearest main metro, but we didn't find this a problem as it is a scenic crossing the bridge.
The apartment was lovely and spacious as there were only two of us. Lots of freebies of food and toiletries, with an excellent host who tries hard to make everything perfect. Fun items like the musical toaster and some games are great for kids. The skytree is easily reached by foot and is best to do at night.

South KoreaA big fan of Tokyo shita-machi culture, I enjoy staying at various spots off downtown in Tokyo. This place was perfect for a family stay where me, my husband and my grown-up daughter had a pleasant stay. The place is calm, however, easily accesible to most of Tokyo hot spots. We're impressed by the range of amenities provided. The most cost-effective place that I've ever stayed in Tokyo.

United KingdomReally nothing - the place was great.
We absolutely loved staying in this very authentic Japanese property! The place is small but everything is so beautifully arranged and organised that it felt much larger. My kids loved the bunk beds that are built into a cupboard in the wall - it was an adventure for them to sleep there! The fridge was stocked with authentic Japanese drinks and snacks which we enjoyed trying out. Everything was incredibly clean and well organised and the host was very attentive and welcoming. The location is also really good - just 10 minutes walk across the river to the Akasuka neighbourhood.

United StatesThe location was quiet but restaurants, subway and supermarkets were about 10 minutes walk away. The owner did provide free bicycles for use which would have made travel quicker but we didn’t use them because we had small kids. Previously I had made a review for this hotel which was inaccurate, I had confused this hotel with another that had a similar name. This place was awesome 10/10.
The atmosphere was wonderful, the owner was super nice, the room was spacious and well furnished.

MalaysiaThe small sofa bed is a bit soft.
Very exquisite Japanese style accommodation. The host is very friendly and patiently explains how to use the kitchen, toilet, air conditioning, heating, and toilet in the house. The house is clean & new and well equipped. A lot of snacks, cup noodles, bread, coffee, tea, etc. were prepared for us. All are free! The space is limited, and it seems a bit small for 6 adults because we have 6 suitcases. 4 or 5 people would be perfect. We stayed for 5 days and the host even provided us with new towels to change. He also prepared a lot of cleansing, skin care, and body care products. It takes about 10 minutes from the station. There is a small restaurant behind the hotel with very good food and reasonable prices.

ItalyThe laundry room was not exceptional -- the filters of the driers were not clean, so we pulled out our dried clothes with a lost of dust on them. Notice that this is not direct responsibility of the owner, since the laundry room is that of another hotel nearby, which tenants of the room can use during their stay.
The room is small but very welcoming and equipped with everything one needs for a short stay in Tokyo. Even in four, we had a very comfy experience. The futons are great to sleep on. The place is conveniently located near the Asakusa metro station, and the neighborhood is very quiet.

GermanyJust a hint, no criticism: Some of the flyers were quite old and are maybe outdated now, due to the difficult COVID situation in which some institutions may have been closed. So maybe its worth to go through them and replace or sort out.
Room The room was very spacious for the two of us (we had no oversize baggage) and it felt like home, since everything was there what you might need. The bathroom is relatively small compared to Western hotels, however there is nothing to criticize. Everything is separated (toilet, shower, washbasin), so that not only one person at a time can use the bathroom. The toilet was the best during our 3 weeks in Japan. Note, that the aircon might be a bit loud for you if you have to keep it running overnight. Also note, that there is no daily cleaning of the room or such. For us this was not important, but from what I read some deem it as very important. Bed The futons were comfy, however the pillows were a bit too thick and hard for our taste. We switched them with other pillows available in the room, so this was not a big of a problem. Note that you sleep on the Tatami floor, since this is a traditional Japanese room! Location The inn is located in a quiet neighborhood and around 10-15 min by foot to Asakusa Station. Also Tokyo Skytree is not that far away. If you want to stay super central in bustling Asakusa this is not the best stay for you, however, the calm nights was exactly what we looked for. Amenities There are a lot of them, more than we needed. We very much appreciated the cup noodles and other food/drink amenities after our long journey from Germany to Tokyo. It was a relief, that we didn't have to go out looking for food after finally arriving at the Inn. Also there are a lot of flyers provided in the Inn, if you need inspiration on what you can do in Tokyo. Also you can use bikes for free (however we didn't use them). Host He is a very helpful, sympathetic and friendly guy who speaks good English. Also German is possible, thanks to a translator device. He always replied very quickly to our questions via Booking during our stay and provided us with current local events (there was a bon dance in Asakusa). ありがとうございました 。また泊まりたいです。
