Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location to central Shibuya was further than anticipated and difficult to find initially but the walk was enjoyable once i had worked out a quicker route. Only downfall was the walls were quite thin so I could hear everything in the hallway from my room.
The hotel was clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was well laid out. The bathroom was stocked with amenities and kept well clean.

There is limited space on where you can keep stuff - so if you are traveling heavy with a large suitcase it might not be the most comfortable.
Very convenient, great for a place to sleep. You wouldn't be looking for much more here (if you are staying at the dormitories), but the facilities are great and enough for a stay. Location is nice!

I was surprised how far it was from the train station. Google maps had me walk through Shibuya Mark centre to get to the other side which then I was directed to walk down a street that was lined with restaurants and bars which were full, suggesting there’s good food in the area! Luckily I just had my backpack but if I had a big suitcase it would have been best to jump in a cab.
This was a last minute booking for a Saturday night. I booked a self contained room and was pleasantly surprised. I too didn’t realise it was a hostel until after I booked it. Super clean, spacious for a single room. The bed was firm but that’s what I love about Japan! Staff friendly and helpful.

Location!! Closer to train station and 24-hour family mart, cafes, and restaurants. It's very clean and quiet. Safe location. Buffet breakfast in the cafe was OK .

There was no proper kitchen, just a sink and microwave/toaster and I couldn't get any of the microwaves or toasters to work, on any floor. Nowhere to store food. Would not stay longer than a night or two because of this. Staff not around to help. Think it was a ploy to get you to have their overpriced restaurant food.
Good location near station, convenience stores, and restaurants. Clean and quiet.

Bunk Bed Design: I stayed on the upper bunk bed on the second floor. The wall felt quite thin, and it was a bit difficult and somewhat unsafe to climb up to the upper bunk. Noise Sensitivity: While the bed itself was comfortable, even small movements caused noise, making it easy to disturb others. I could hear other guests’ movements, including someone breathing heavily below me, which made me quite self-conscious about moving around.
I recently stayed at your hostel and overall had a positive experience. Here are my thoughts: Location: The location is great and very convenient for exploring the area. Facilities: The facilities are good, clean, and well-maintained. It felt comfortable and organized. Value for Money: The price is reasonable, and I felt it was good value for the experience offered. I was only staying for two nights for business in Tokyo, so I considered it an interesting experience. Overall, I think your hostel offers great value for money with a fantastic location and cleanliness. With a few adjustments to the bed design and noise control, it would be an even better place to stay. Thank you for the hospitality!

The bed was small, which you can guess from the photos. But there's no counter space to put your things. The same goes for desk space. The desks they have the hallway are small and uncomfortable. But if you don't need a table then it won't bother you :)
The location was perfect. It was close to everything but without the constant noise. The staff were always accommodating and the rooms were cleaned daily.

Excellent access to Shibuya. free use various items e.g: towels, toothbrushes. follow their instagram in exchange for free (non-alcoholic) drinks. pristine building, from the reception to the restaurant to the rooms themselves. the lift is very convenient, and its placement at the reception makes it very easy to get to and from your room without hassle

Not a very social hostel, so if you are looking to meet people not the best place
Really great location right next to Shibuya/Dogenzaka while being tucked away in a quieter part of the neighborhood. There are so many great restaurants and bars just on the street adjacent to the hotel. Great medium between staying in Shibuya and wanting a quieter hostel experience

Cubicle toilets weren't enough privacy but there's is a single toilet downstairs that's completely private so I just went there instead. Nothing else I could complain about apart from the large hill on the way? But thats just not something we can change.
The comfy beds and privacy with the curtains super clean. Lovely place to stay with the general amenities you find in most Japanese hostels/hotels

Only a basic microwave and a fridge. No other eating related items such as utensils or cups/plates. Very limited seating just outside doors to the rooms.
It was a comfortable clean quiet hostel about 10 minute walk from Shibuya Crossing. Many restaurants 1 minute away that are just outside the busy Center Gai area. Bathrooms very clean. Beds private. Good value.
