Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThe fee for losing your entry-card is 5000 Yen (32 EUR-ish). That is an insane price, it's the cost of one extra night. Losing a card is on me, but there's no reason to squeeze me for it. Hotels such as APA, Dormy Inn and Daiwa charge 1000 Yen, I don't see why a budget hostel should charge 5 times that, it is completely unjustified and a borderline scam. Hotel cards costs 20cents (USD) to buy. Extremely small space, nothing at all to store luggage, which ended up weirdly positioned in a way that didn't allow me to get out of the bed and didn't allow for the room door to open properly. Bed was very close to the ground, gets very dusty during the night especially if you don't let some air flow (of course then you lose on privacy as the shades move horizontally and not vertically. Sink in toilette not working for two days, and one of the two available toilettes has been closed for one full day with no explanation. Toilettes do not have the standard disinfectant spray to clean them up before sitting on them. Amenities are poor and most are not included. The place itself wasn't exactly cheap either.
Position isn't bad, ten min walk to Shibuya Crossing. Everyday cleaning of shared areas and bedsheet change which was an unexpected surprise. Staff was ok speaking in English, not a given. I did not try the restaurant and breakfast (which were not included anyway).

JapanBlack mold on the air conditioning vents right above my bed was a concern. Leaky shower head and difficult to maintain water temp. The incessant noise of things sliding and banging around from the floor above transmitting straight through the walls into my bunk which made it hard to sleep.
Good location, easy to go in and out.

AustraliaNot a social hostel at all if you’re looking to meet people. People staying there were older and kept to themselves, no common area to meet people. Honestly like a ghost town and was really dissaponted with how much I paid. The last night I was the only one in the whole 10 room bunk bed which was a bit strange but had a good sleep I guess!
Clean, comfy beds, good location, nice bathroom facilities included straighteners and curlers. Good if u want to be all by yourself but not good if ur looking to meet other people.

NetherlandsStayed at TurnTable Hostel for the first time a few years ago (2018), fantastic experience. Morning breakfast with fellow hostel guests or you could sit in the restaurant area quietly after day out or relax after checking out until your trip. You could also have a drink at the bar while staff shared the best hotspots of tokyo. But this time dramatically everything above is no longer possible. Staff not social, very poor understanding and barely speak english that in itself does not matter but also zero initiative to communicate otherwise. atmosphere and Service of love hotel around the corner is same or even better.

United StatesThe main station which is Shibuya station is close but not that close, its 10-15mins walk. When your a bit tired from walking all day, you would feel the propert is a bit far but because you see a lot of things a long the way its kinda feel its close also. I am a bit conflicted with the location. But it is a good place to stay.
The property is clean, its close to nice restaurants and its surrounded by convience stores and a police station so its very safe. If I every I’ll come back to Tokyo I will stay here again. And the staff are excellent. 💙
