Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeToilets were small, but I guessed it is pretty common in Japan.
Bed is okay, pillow abit thin, so for those that love bigger and harder pillows, perhaps should request for it earlier.

AustraliaGreat location with trendy and comfortable rooms. While small in size they're surprisingly spacious thanks to thoughtful design and the mattresses were very comfortable. The staff were also very friendly. Is very good value for money and we even tried to book here again during our stay after having a bad experience at another location but they were booked out. If you're visiting Japan this is an affordable while quality location to use a base for at least a few days.

MalaysiaMaybe the signboard need to be a bit bigger so easier for us to spot.
Very clean and the room is comfortable. Can fit 4 of us with large luggages. The staff really tried to communicate with us. There’s a lot of stores nearby and near train station. The sound of train a bit scary for first day but on second day, you will get used to it.

United KingdomNothing much to note. If you're a deep sleeper the trains overhead won't bother you at all.
Really close to Akihabara JR Station around 4 minute walk. Staff are super friendly and chill and room sizes are great considering what you pay for. A great place to drop your bags and explore the area.

United StatesThe lobby was a bit warm but the rooms were a fine temperature.
We really liked the unique under track location and slept well to the rumble of trains. The lobby with coffee shop was really convenient and the location was 3 minutes from Akihabara station train station and really easy to get to either Ueno or Tokyo station.

MalaysiaThe noise from the train was expected due to the location but honestly it’s not that loud. You kinda get used to it after a few hours. But to people who are sensitive to noises, might want to avoid it.
Very near to the train station and very easy to find. Just a 3-5min walk. Everything was neat and clean.

New ZealandThe main thing which I wasn't sure about was exactly how loud the trains would be. They required that you sign a waiver acknowledging that the hotel is directly under a railway. And yes it's LOUD and they are frequent. Luckily for us we were out most of the time and when we got back we so tired we slept any way. The rooms rules indicate that the guests should be quiet after 10PM (but sadly don't indicate what time until in the morning) and we were woken up both at night and early in the morning, by inconsiderate guests. The hotel doesn't accept cash for their meals.
The main advantages of this hotel are it's location and it's price. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food they serve is good value and yummy! I loved the way they do their security, with a QR code which you can then photograph on your phone and use that to access your room.

New ZealandBut the second night I came down with a bug, and then the novelty of the trains overhead did wear off because I wasn't feeling great at all and in that circumstance i just wanted quiet. I did then wish that I'd chosen a quiet hotel over novelty at the end of a long and tiring trip before flying out. I want to be clear that this is not the hotel's fault at all, they are perfectly clear about the noise inherent to the location, but something to consider when you make a booking here, if your tolerance for noise changes depending on how you're feeling/how tired you are. Also our room had a low double bed and a raised single bunk squeezed in at chest height, with a narrow clearance between the bunk and a pillar, which wasn't so great if you forgot to be wary of the corners when getting up from the double bed to go to the bathroom at night. The support beams on the walkway to the rooms are also low. I'm 167cm tall and could just fit under without ducking, but my partner who is 182cm had to remember to duck - there is padding on the corners but something to be aware of if you or members of your party are very tall.
The location was excellent; it was close to the very convenient Akihabara Station and electronic town. It's basic but clean and with perfectly good facilities. Staff are very friendly. The novelty of the location under the tracks was great, the trains reduce in frequency and then stop around midnight, and there is a good stretch of near perfect quiet between midnight and about 5am. I enjoyed hearing the trains for the first night we stayed. We used a luggage porting service to get our bags to the hotel, and the staff had them ready when we checked in, which was super convenient.

United KingdomThe "key" to the room was a piece of paper with a QR code on it that the staff encouraged you to take a photo of, would be improved with actual keycards. The entrance is oddly elevated, making getting in with luggage awkward in the tiny lift, and put the bridge structure really low. It's unavoidable that you would hear the trains over head but a little more noise isolation wouldn't have gone as miss. The bathroom is super tiny and the towels smelt musty.
It was cheap, and very close to Akihabara centre for easy travel to and from the heart of weeb city. Staff were friendly and sorted out the room nicely. Free amenities and ice cold water by the entrance. Very clean and tidy despite the location.

BelgiumThis was a weird experience. As the hotel name suggest it’s under the railway. The railway pillars are literally in the room. Each train that passes, you hear it. We laughed at it and thought we might need our earbuds. But to be honest we slept amazing. It’s like a soothing sound :)

United KingdomThe obvious thing to point out is the small amount of space in the room, but that was to be expected - it's still fantastic for the price and location.
The location is amazing, right next to the centre of Akihabara Electric Town and the station with easy access to the rest of Tokyo.
