We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Japan- Communal area I personally found it a shame there wasn't a proper communal area to hang out and meet other hostel guests. Due to a burger restaurant being right next to the lobby that was not part of wise owls and non guests could go to, that wasn't really a option to meet new people from the hostel. While during night hours when the restaurant was shut you could meet fellow hostel guests there, it was still disappointing it wasn't a permanent communal area. You mostly had to try and meet new people if you came across them on your floor in the smoking area or just walking to and from your bed. - Luggage space The hostel had more or less no real luggage storage space, if your capsule style bed was on the bottom, you could store your luggage underneath. However, if you were on the top bunk, you had to dump your things in the hallway and make sure it didn't get in people's way as they walked past.
I actually stayed here for 22 nights! That kind of tells what I thought of it, I thought overall it was a great place to stay! What I liked; -Great value for money, the reasons below are why, - Superb location A 10-15 minute walk to Shibuya crossing, you can easily walk to and back from amazing, shopping, restaurants, bars, clubs etc. Also very close to the subway, supermarkets and great restaurants. Being slightly out of Shibuya is actually quite refreshing as you can easily walk to very busy areas but the hostel is in a slightly quieter area which is nice if you're feeling a little more quiet atmosphere. -Comfy bed and capsule design A comfy bed is of high value to me and the beds here were pretty comfy, no complaints there. I personally really like capsule hotels so I really enjoyed how they implemented a capsule style setup in this hostel. With a locker, charging ports and a curtain to draw across, it's well utilised and private. I'm a very social person but I do really enjoy my privacy sometimes and this is something I really enjoyed. -Great Showers High pressure and hot, no complaints there! 😁 These reasons all with a pretty reasonable per night rate, I paid between 3000-3400 per night for for when I stayed here which made it a great place to stay

EstoniaThere is no policy for taking off shoes and slippers cost ¥100. The space was a bit cramped. You need to keep your keycard with you otherwise you'll get locked out of the room at night. There was dust in my cupboard.
Great little place to stay if your planning to be in the area. Not too far from Shibuya. Small open kitchen, showers and washrooms. Towel included. Cafe downstairs. Great view if you're on the higher floors.

United KingdomThe common space is a restaurant until 9pm so not usable unless you eat there. The private bunk bed rooms are very tight. I knew this going in though and therefore it doesn’t affect my rating much.
10-15 min walk from Shibuya crossing but there’s also a bus that gets you there quicker. The hostel is clean and has laundry and cooking facilities which is great. Couldn’t hear the traffic despite a busy nearby motorway.

GermanyThe cushion is a bit stiff, bring your own if you are not into that. The wash rooms are okay but should have more shelfs to store things in a dry area. It would be good to have more room for the luggage as it was all over the corridors in the shared room. The staff mentioned it takes 45 minutes from Haneda to the hostel but it was more like an hour 15 minutes, if you take the public transport. But still close enough. But I had a good stay, so these are very minor details. The price and value are good.
The staff was friendly, everything was explained and easily manageable. Toilets are not mixed, showers are (if you are on the mixed shared room floor). Only 15 minutes to Shibuya crossing by foot. Small locker with a key right next to the bed. Curtains give a private feeling. If you want only a bed for your stay this is a good spot.

IrelandIt's a small cosy building, totally fine if you're out and about but a bit cramped if you plan on hanging around on a rainy day!
My stay was short but the hostel did the job. I had a very cosy twin room with bunk beds and a small sink. Its basic but fine, with capsule style bunks. There was a very small kitchen area on my floor and there's a small communal area/restaurant down stairs which I beleive you need to make a purchase to use while the restaurant is open. It's a short walk from Shibuya

JapanIn other spaces of the bunk beds there is no place to put luggage and bags.
Loved it! Clean amenities and beds. Kind great staff to accommodate you at the reception. Also there is a phone at the counter to contact the staff for questions. Thick mattresses for the beds, soft pillows, and a Japanese weighted blanket were superb. Very comfy to relax and sleep in for a good night's rest. Make sure to book in advance because it sells out fast!

RussiaToo small kitchen. Suits only for preparing something. Too many beds are in the room and a small corridor between them. I was expecting a more party place. It's about 1km for the Shibuya station. For everyday visiting it was too much for me.
Nice and gentle stuff, big comfortable shower cabins. Personal space includes nightlight, socket for charging devices and safe with locker. Also there are bed curtains. There is a little cafe on the first floor near reception. In the kitchen you can find fridge, electric kettle and microwave oven. There are pretty quiet through the nighttime.

JapanI found a discarded juice box in my shoes locker. So I doubt about the cleanliness at first. Regardless, the bed is clean enough for me. I didn’t have any allergic reaction from sleeping on a bed there even though I have a very sensitive skin.
Location is really good. It’s just 8-10 mins from Shibuya station. Even though that, the hostel is located in a quiet part of Shibuya. Inside is not too noisy. Bed was very comfortable.

AustraliaVentilation was pretty poor and the whole floor smelled like feet. Bathrooms were a little dirty in the evening but spotless in the morning. The common area was the restaurant so only accessible in the evening.
Good privacy with curtains on the bunks. Small lockers inside or outside the bunk was useful for laptop and valuables. Bathrooms were fine. We were able to store our bags at reception before check in. 10 minute walk to the closest train and 20 min walk from the Shibuya bus or train stations.

NetherlandsThe space where you can sleep and put your luggage is really small. There is no space to put your luggage in a locker, that was inconvenient. Also the room smelled quite bad, because there are so many people sleeping in one dorm.
We liked the cozy vibe of the hostel. Also bathroom/toilet are clean and there’s enough for everyone. We liked that there was a coin - laundry. It was really quiet in the room, which was nice.

JapanThe location is good (walking distance to Shibuya central), but it's just not a very interesting neighbourhood. Besides, it's a bit of a walk to any metro/train line that takes you to different parts of the centre (about 15 min). Tiny critical point: The room floor was quite dirty (due to someone having dirty shoes) and this was still not cleaned when we left 3 days later.
This hostel really exceeded my expectations! The staff is extremely friendly and even willing to help out with special requests. The beds are very comfortable and had enough privacy with curtains covering them. There are storage lockers inside the "pods". The facilities are great and so is the general security of this place. Downstairs is a burger restaurant in which you are allowed to chill in the evenings. There is a tiny kitchen on each floor that provides you with all the necessities to make food! Happy :)!
