The faucet in the bathroom is shared by the shower and the face basin, so the water comes out too strong and splashes everywhere.

New renovation. Very clean and well renovated. Staff were nice. There's also a common kitchen area. I stayed for 1 month, so it was nice to be able to cook sometimes. Location was amazing. Close to the Gojo Station (Karasuma subway line), buses, restaurants, etc without being too touristy. Quiet at night.

Access to the entrance had a small step, but mentioning this only because we had a person in a wheelchair. Still doable though. Also the trash could have been taken out more often out of the room.

Excellent place - the biggest rooms we’ve had during our trip to Japan - even had a balcony. New facilities, everything very well organized. Common space for eating inside of the hotel if needed, washing machines, oven, microwave etc. Perfect location - in the very center, walking distance from Kyoto station, yet very quiet area.

The tatami was very flat so it was almost as if you were sleeping on the floor. If it was thicker it would definitely be more confortable. Apart from that everything was great.

One of our futons was a bit flat and left my back a little sore. Also, check-in was confusing because they sent the code to my email a few hours before check-in, but I was not able to see it because I didn't have internet. They should consider that not all foreigners have cell service upon arrival. Luckily, I was able to sign in on my husband's phone, but then it turned out the code was the code to get our key from the little box inside. All this was going on while a worker was at the desk, so they just let me in. If they have a worker there anyway, it might just be easier to do a normal check-in. Or, they could send the code way ahead of time like some other places do so I can screenshot it. It was just unnecessarily tedious. I hope you guys can fix this process.

Good location near an amazing temple and a bunch of restaurants. The room had nice facilities and was a little more spacious than our last Japanese hotel. I liked that this place was nice and clean.

See above notes - not negative for me, but points to be aware for other travelers.

Staff was very friendly. Great location, close to important train station and some tourist attractions. Hotel is small, so it was quieter and more peaceful than larger hotels. Note that there's not staff present 24 hours - this is not a negative point for me, but might be for some people. I found the bed too hard for my comfort, but it was exactly as posted here, so it was my choice to try it out.

Beautiful hotel! I loved the ryokan-style rooms with tatami mat and futon. The futon on the floor was pretty comfortable and there were two large balconies with great views of the Kyoto Tower. Pajamas and slippers were included. There’s a low table and cushions in the room and a tea set, as well as mini fridge and microwave. There’s laundry on the first floor and an elevator. Very close to subway at Gojo Station and a convenient 7-11 in a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood. I’d definitely stay again.

Location took a bit of getting used to getting out of/into, but once you had that down it wasn't bad. The door keypad randomizes the sequence of numbers so punching them in isn't quick and easy either.

Room was spacious and pretty, enough room for all of our luggage and some re-packing to be done. We were incredibly lucky that every time we had a delivery (luggage, pizza, ourselves!) someone was there to give us a little help when we were struggling or something was earlier than scheduled. They have umbrellas for free-use which is very useful with it being spring while my mother and I visited. I really enjoyed our stay here.

Everything was great. Best place we have stayed in Japan so far.

The check-in was smooth and our room was large, we also had a small balcony - perfect for drying clothes. We also had an iron, ironing board and microwave in the room which was great. Location was perfect for sightseeing, we could get everywhere easily. The neighbourhood was quiet and safe.

A little far away from the main attractions in Kyoto but close to a subway stops. It was 20/30 mins walk to main streets.

This hotel has a great location, just steps away from the subway, convenience stores, and within walking distance of Kyoto Station. The Japanese-style room was lovely, complete with a clean bathroom. Communication was a breeze, with prompt responses to inquiries. Despite the absence of staff during check-in and out, the process was smooth thanks to clear and easy-to-follow instructions.

There was no space for our suitcases or to put our clothes, it made arranging ourselves a bit difficult. It's nice to see staff in case you have questions. I am not that keen on self check-in. Could have done with a spoon when making tea

Loved the location & the Japanese style room. Nice & quiet too. Bathroom, bedroom & toilets very nice. Good idea to have lockers for keys - less worry when you go out. Liked the cups & kettle to make tea.

the hotel is 3 min walk from metro station and 2 min walk from my favorite public bath in town. 7-11 is 1 min walk. Can't complain anything about location.

The bed was a little too hard for me to sleep on even it was on top of another mat.

Thr room is spacious and the area is pretty quiet. It also looks premium.

- Single layer thin mattress on hard wood floor can be uncomfortable at times - air con was very dusty outside and inside. We thought about sending a request to have it cleaned but decided not to. - We couldn't work out how to operate the fan in the toilet. It may not have even had one. Fan in bathroom did work well however. - Luggage space was limited. If you have very large luggage, it may be problematic. - Sink to wash hands was very small.

Curtains don't block the light completely so best to pack an eye mask.

Coin laundry. 7/11 and train station 2min walk away. Rooms are clean and quiet. Very happy with our stay.
