Staff members were all just so nice and warm and helpful! Hotel is very small but the entire ryokan is Japanese contemporary. Room was nice, clean, spacious and very relaxing. Can hear lots of birds in the morning when sitting and enjoying the Sun in the large balcony in the morning. Hotel is perhaps 10-15 min walk from Kyoto station - not totally convenient but they have very very good instructions on their website so made it easy to find and locate it.

Absolutely nothing!

We visited Kyoto few times in the past and this was by far the best place we stayed. It's conveniently located to public transport, shopping and dining areas and convenient stores. It's also in a quieter area. Staff are very helpful and provide very good information about Kyoto and surrounding areas. Room was spacious and loved the fact it had both modern and traditional characters.

The staff is incredible, they are helpful and lovely. The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. I recommand this hotel for a stay in Kyoto, everything was perfect.

This hotel is a little gem... It is a 10 min walk on flat pavements in a quiet area from the main kyoto station.. There are numerous eateries and shops and cafes within a five min walk. The hotel was spotless and staff were so very friendly and courteous.. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit kyoto.. We stated for 7 nights and we're more than happy with our choice.

The only thing that was surprising was that there was no hooks in the bathroom (apart a small one above the sink) for hanging anything: wet towels or washed socks. There is no place for hanging anything. And i also wished they had a laundry room. They offered to wash our laundry but I found it expensive.

Friendly staff, very good and spacious room with a lovely balcony. Very good tea was provided in the room.

The breakfast was unique and we loved that it was traditional Japanese cuisine and not Westernized. We loved the rooms with balcony zen gardens. We will recommend this hotel to all our friends that visit Kyoto.

Only option at the hotel is hotel laundry service, which is quite expensive. Fortunately there are a few coin laundry’s within a short walking distance.

Location was great - not too far from bus stops & walking distance from Kyoto Station, worth doing some research on the area to understand food locations. Room was extremely clean - every day towels were swapped & bed made. Walking back in after a day out the room always felt immaculate. Breakfast was very nice - can choose between traditional Japanese and western options, both were great. Staff were exceptional - always looking help and deeply respectful.

The Japanese breakfast was incredible and kept us full through lunch time. All the staff were extremely helpful and, in particular, Kawasaki and Yoshi as we had the most daily interaction with the both of them during our stay. The room furnishings, including bedding, were new and the room was kept immaculately clean. The location was great as it was close to restaurants and shopping areas.

I could not believe how absolutely beautiful our room was; I loved it! It was very spacious for three adults, the bed and pillows extremely comfortable, the linens very nice. The tub was wonderful and had a view of the sky and a bamboo. The lighting was so relaxing. There was every amenity available, and the staff was incredibly hospitable. I wanted to do laundry - they did it for us! Folded and put in our room; what a treat! We did not try the breakfast, but it is probably excellent given the caliber of service.

This is odd and specific but would be nice if there were towel hooks in the bathroom. Grasping at straws… Also would be so perfect if there was a spa or onset at the hotel.

We LOVED this hotel. Just walking through the main door was instantly calming. Our room was so beautiful and spacious. The tub and shower were lovely. All of the staff were so kind and helpful. The Japanese breakfast was incredible. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. We really enjoyed the location. It’s slightly further away from stuff than some of the other hotels, but we liked that it was nice and quiet. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay again if we ever get the chance to return to Kyoto!

A little farther from the train station than I expected. still convenient… only 10 minutes walking distance.

Hands down, it ranks as one of the best designed rooms I have stayed at (and I’ve traveled for work & leisure for decades). Soundproof, comfy bed, climate controlled perfection, serene zen garden glimpses from the bedroom and bathroom, plugs-USB ports and extra mobile chargers intuitively on each side bedside table, indirect lighting options to set the mood, the bathroom stocked with anything you might need, tea kettle with local Uji tea. The breakfast offered fresh fish, rice, miso soup, green tea, sweet local delicacy (sesame tofu, matcha mochi). The staff was exceptionally professional, polite, attentive and courteous.

Could be better if there are more hooks to hang towels in the bathroom.

Staff were polite and welcoming, greeting guests passing through the hotel lobby every time. Room was beautiful and spacious. The attention to detail was really remarkable. Loved that there was a separate tap and sink outside the bathroom for the washing of cups etc. Comfortable bedroom slippers. Japanese WC was awesome. Hotel even provided an additional luggage rack in the wardrobe. Overall a nicely-designed, comfortable, clean and contemporary hotel, with a tinge of traditional Japanese architecture. Location is not too far from both Kyoto station and Shichijo metro station, very walkable.
