Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.

Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Pleasant staff except the omelette making lady in the restaurant during the breakfast hard to find the smile on her face . She should be educated by the admin how to welcome the guest .

Nothing to complain, just hope they would extend the timing for using the pool.
The location was just perfect, amazing view of the ocean and all good rest and super markets were a walkable distance from the hotel. The staff were friendly and courteous. Loved the service that was offered to us.

Sound TV not working. Bedside lamp not working. Phone not working (impossible to call reception or any service) Breakfast buffet looks big but extremely basic food of very low quality. Bad Chef certainly. Surprisingly no idea of what should be a minimum for this type of hotel.

The hotel buffet was quite expensive in comparison to some other hotel buffets we ate during our trip, however it was tasty.
Our room overlooked the sea which is across the main road and train line. We thought this would be loud but it was very quiet and we didn't hear any traffic throughout the night. The pool overlooks the sea at sunset and is a lovely temperature. The buffet dinner was one of the tastiest meals we ate during our trip and the breakfast was good quality too, with lots of options. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room and bed were massive.

Very poor internet. The passing trains (across street on beach side) literally shake the building but I grew accustomed. The hot water system is inadequate - a known fact as they have a "Please bear with us" sign about the solar heated water.
First time at Mirage. Chosen because on a day off I planned to go diving with a nearby dive center. (Which I did.) My room was large with great views of the ocean. Walking along the road can be daunting as it is so busy but there are shops, an ATM, other businesses, all nearby.

For the price you pay, the cleanliness, especially the bathrooms are not upto par. The amenities don't fall within this price range either. You have to be quite aware of your safety if you are a couple or have kids since several drunk/high individuals roam about, and the ones we encountered were quite loud, inconsiderate and rowdy. The ones in our adjacent room were arguing loudly and had their door opened the whole time. I have nothing against anyone getting drunk or having a good time, and I know that it is not always under the control of the management, but it's better if a more disciplined culture is promoted by the establishment to ensure safety and peace of mind for all guests.
Loved the location, the staff is professional, cordial and friendly. Views were amazing, pool was quite small but was a great spot to relax. The restaurant overlooks ocean and had a great view, food is quite alright, but could benefit from a bit more variety.

The wifi didn't work for much of our stay. We did raise it with reception and they did try and fix it. It is a bit further away from sites such as Galle Face Green. However, there are plenty of tuk-tuks in the area to catch a ride. The hairdryer in the bathroom was awkward in that you had to hold two buttons in to use it. We took advantage of a few specials to get a good rate at this hotel. However, the normal price without any discount is quite high considering what you get.
The staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was big and spacious with a lovely view of the ocean. The pool was a bonus and we enjoyed a refreshing swim. We took advantage of the late checkout special on booking.com as our flight home was in the evening. It was great to still have a shower after a day's activities. Breakfast was average but well-priced for the area.

The hotel rooms needs an update, otherwise it is a good hotel to stay.
We checked in on Valentine's Day and had certain criteria for our meals, and the Chef went out of his way to accommodate our requests which was highly appreciated. Our friends had an enjoyable meal. The rooms were spacious with an ocean view, which was spectacular especially when the trains pass by. The beach is clean and offers a superb view. Although the rooms needs to be updated but the beds were comfortable. Certainly would recommend this hotel.
