Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere was no air con on our floor which the other rooms had and we were told we would have in our descriptioin, but otherwise everything else was great.
We really liked the hospitality provided by Fouad, the manager of the Riad, he was really friendly and welcoming, and made us mint tea when we arrived, and gave us many recommendations. He was 10/10 in terms of customer service, it made our first time in Morocco a lot easier and enjoyable. The Riad was cosy and peaceful, a nice place to relaxed away from the medina.

IrelandIt’s close to a busy market area which may not be to everybody’s taste but it is the real, everyday Medina.
A really lovely riad, beautifully decorated and remarkably cool on the ground floor during some very hot weather. Very friendly and obliging staff especially Fouad, the manager, who was always prepared to help with any enquiry.

Our stay was amazing! Fouad made us feel very welcome and gave us good tips and recommendations. He was super helpful, friendly, and communicative! The Riad is a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. As two women, we felt very safe and could explore everything we planned for. I will definitely recommend staying at Riad Zara and experiencing Fouad's hospitality.

United StatesWe loved nearly everything about our stay. The Riad was an amazing, peaceful, and comfortable oasis away from the chaos of Marrakech, and the staff - especially Fouad - made our stay one to remember. The Riad was quaint, comfortable, and clean, nestled in a nice local neighborhood that allowed us to experience local life in Marrakech while still being just only a 15 minute walk to the center of Marrakech. The Riad was clean and beautiful, just as the pictures show. Fouad made our stay incredible and our stay wouldn't have been the same without him. From checking us in on the first day and getting us acquainted with Marrakech, answering any questions we had while providing us with amazing tea (the best we had during our stay) and pastries, to cooking us amazing meals like breakfast and dinner whenever we requested with love and care, he really went above and beyond and made our stay one we will never forget. We loved our visit and would highly recommend Riad Zara to anyone looking for a place to stay in Marrakech that wants a clean and reliable stay and to be treated like family.

FranceThe room is very clean, and it is cleaned daily. The district Bab Aylan offers a genuine experience of the local people's lifestyle and allows you to taste the area's unique specialties . The staff member, Fouad, was very friendly. He personally greeted me at the parking lot and took the time to explain the local customs and culture.

United KingdomWe had an amazing stay at Riad Zara in Marrakech! The host and the entire staff were absolutely wonderful—incredibly helpful, warm, and welcoming. They perfectly organized our airport transfers, provided us with all the information we needed, and truly made us feel at home. The food was outstanding, and their hospitality was heartwarming. The riad itself is in a great, quiet location, and the atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful. We 100% recommend Riad Zara and would gladly return anytime. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

United KingdomThis was our second stay, with a new host this time. The riad is a traditional Moroccan-style courtyard house, beautifully designed and full of charm. Our room was also lovely and spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly attentive. We had both breakfast and dinner at the riad, and we highly recommend it. The food was delicious, but more importantly, we truly appreciated the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The host was very friendly and went out of their way to assist us, offering helpful recommendations for short trips and advising us on the best places to exchange currency instead of doing so at the airport. The optional airport transfer service was also a great convenience for us. Overall, thanks to the host and staff, our trip to Marrakech was an amazing experience!

PolandThe Riad's vicinity itself can be a bit demanding for unexperienced travelers ;)
Riad Zara definitely stands out with its original Moroccan decor and attention to detail. Beautiful interiors are complemented by small works of art. If you are looking for a Moroccan experience, then Riad Zara is for you. The owner is a very friendly person who cares about her guests. In 15 minutes you can walk to Jemaa el Fna, walking through narrow streets lined with local workshops.

Our host was very welcoming, kind and helpful. She made our experience in the Riad so enjoyable. The Riad itself is so pretty and very quiet, it is far from the noisy part of the Medina and next to the gate Bab Aylen which is good for getting taxis to and from. The roof terrace is gorgeous! My partner loved the Asian options for food.

United KingdomSlight misunderstanding about vegetarian diet at dinner but it was rectified very quickly and I enjoyed the alternative which was freshly prepared.
Gorgeous riad, very nice staff, Shijia was a very friendly host. We loved sitting on the peaceful roof terrace in the evening. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Rooms don’t lock but it felt very safe as Shijia or other staff are always around and the front door to the riad locks. We left our bags there on the last day and there were no problems at all. We paid for the shuttle to and from the airport which was hassle free and got us there in good time. The cost of the shuttle included early check in at the riad. It was easy to communicate with Shijia via whatsapp and email.

MoroccoWe would have loved a reading lamp but this is not something we’ve seen in over 40 days in Morocco.
We stayed at the Riad Zara for five nights. Shi Jia, our wonderful host, has just taken over the business and looked after us as though we were family. We enjoyed the tranquility of Riad Zara away from the main and busy sights of the Marrakech Medina (About a twenty five minute walk) but close to the gate for transport to sights outside the Medina. Bus #9 to Jardine Marjorelle was 4 Dirham. Our room, #4 was on the first floor. It was spacious, comfortable, tastefully decorated and very clean. It had lots of options for mood lighting. The huge bath and shower was a treat. The room had its own hot water system so there was plenty of easily regulated hot water. A delight. It was a typical Moroccan continental breakfast - breads, interesting jams beautifully presented with slight variations each day in the Riad courtyard. We had dinner at the Riad one evening. Shi Jia asked us what we’d enjoy. We had an octopus tajine, an avocado and mango salad and pumpkin soup - seasonal produce, well presented and delicious.

United KingdomWonderful and peaceful Riad secluded in the Medina. Close enough that the souks/square/palaces are all walkable, but far enough out that there isn't too much foot traffic/noise in the evenings. Monique was an amazing host that took interest in what we were doing and provided advice and local knowledge, along with organising excursions for us. 100% would recommend!

United StatesI would have liked to have been able to pay my bill with a credit card. The owner requires cash which was a bit of a pain in the neck because I needed to find an ATM (not the easiest thing to do in Marakesh) and get as close as possible to the correct amount because you can't take the money out of the country. If her reason is to avoid paying the credit card processing fee, I would have been happy to include that cost in my overall bill.
extremely friendly and helpful owner/manager. The riad was beautiful inside. The room was as comfortable as I expected. Food was excellent.
