We were a couple, and they gave us a room that is not very similar to the pictures when we booked it in the first place. Our room was directly in front of a tattoo shop inside the hotel where we didn’t feel that we have our privacy. Good thing we asked to change the room and they accepted. On another note, on our first night they told us that there will be maintenance from 12:00pm until 7:00 pm so there will be no water. We planned our day accordingly at the beach to come back after 7:00 to be able to shower. Unfortunately, when we were back there was still no water and after I talked with the staff they asked me for patience. Water came back after half an hour but no hot water and I was really sick so I had to shower with cold water. The situation stayed like this for 2 nights with no hot water. Regarding the cleaning, they didn’t change our towels until we asked on the 3rd day and they fixed the bed in a very bad way which you can see in the picture attached. Some of the staff were really supportive and trying to help but others were unprofessional and following orders blindly. If I come back to Cancun one day, I will definitely not stay in this place.

The room was basic and less nice than expected, especially considering the common areas. The room was smelly when we arrived and had no hairdryer, but the receptionist provided us with one.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The hostel had beautifully designed common areas and offered lots of nice activities to the guests. There are many nice restaurants within walking distance.

The rooms were a bit tired and needed refurbishment- the tap Was almost coming out the basement. The neighbours to the property had a MASSIVE party keeping us awake until 5am and I was surprised the hotel staff did not intervene.

The outside was a really quirky and the little plunge pool clean and well kept. Bedding was lovely and clean and comfortable.

Booking.com advertises as a hotel, but the room we stayed in was on par with a private room in a hostel. For a private room in a hostel it was well overpriced. A room advertised as a hotel room should be more luxurious. We love staying in hostels and wouldn't have minded that the room was basic if we had purchased a hostel private room. However, we were under the impression that we were arriving at a hotel. Shower wasn't pleasant.

This is in fact a 2 star hostel (according to Google) and not a 4 star hotel booking.com advertise so don’t be fooled!!!! Me and my boyfriend stayed in a bedroom with a large double bed but with a bathroom that stank of damp and an awful shower. The shower is on some weird pebble design which hurt your feet to stand on and there is a shower curtain which does not stop the water leaking at all. The bathroom was seriously dated and smelt. The pool was not used and you could probably see why. The hostel (or hotel it advertises itself as) was extremely deserted and made us question why?… The staff were okay but didn’t help us with our suitcases especially when our hotel room was far from the reception and the route was all on pebble stones. We asked the day before whether they could arrange us a taxi from the airport and they said they needed 48 hours in advance for this? Why? Surely it’s just a phone call? They should be able to even provide their guests with a taxi number at least, regardless of how long in advance. This unfortunately resulted us into paying through the nose at the airport for a taxi company because after booking with a company online which never showed up this was our last resort. Last but not least the location is in a deserted area with nothing going on meaning you have to get taxis everywhere and when they are extremely expensive isn’t ideal. I wouldn’t recommend this place and would say don’t be taken in by the price (even when it’s not that good) and find somewhere else!

Stayed in a deluxe king room which could do with some renovation. There were no sockets near the bed, only one in the far away corner. No lamp, only a harsh overhead light. The curtains were very light and allowed daylight in. Cleaners started early, making noise outside my door around 8am, which was a bit inconsiderate. The room could also do with a coffee maker and/or kettle; there was none in the shared kitchen either, just pots to boil water in. The "key deposit" system is ridiculous; you have to leave cash or your passport/ID in reception until you check out.

The room was spacious but lacking facilities. The bed was big and comfortable.

The room was facing the patio where everyone would pass pay, the curtains didn’t block the light and was too small for the windows, the shower was throwing water on the wall and not vertically. That were no outlets near the bed. But the worst part was the address that when you add the name of hotel on google maps it show another location and I need to ask some restaurants around if they new the place, and they informed that lots of people pass by there asking the same thing.

It would be nice to have them charge me before I arrive so that I can budget the rest of my trip without worry. The hostel's cozy design creates an echo which means that you'll hear your neighbor's lovemaking VERY clearly. Not a big deal though.

My friends and I had a blast at Enigmatic Hostel! The vibrant and energetic atmosphere made it the perfect spot for our group. The common areas were lively and a great place to meet fellow travelers. The hostel's location was fantastic, right in the heart of the action, making it easy for us to explore the city. While the accommodations were simple, they were comfortable enough for our budget-friendly trip. We loved the social events organized by the hostel, which added an extra fun element to our stay. The place is actually just a hostel and not a hotel. Noisy people at night and in the early morning. Checkin procedure was kind of slow, and it was annoying that the room key was a bracelet that you had to wear all the time. We had to leave a deposit for the room, which I think is unnecessary. Room is spacious but not very comfortable; very few sockets (only in an inconvenient corner in the room), curtains let in a lot of light, bathroom curtain was too short, lots of mosquitos in the room but no mosquito net above the bed.

The location was convenient, near restaurants and bars. Room was spacious.

I loved the pool, the quiet location, all the ‘chill spots’ to eat at or relax in, the shared kitchen, the staff, the other guests, people doing yoga in the common areas, the artsy design, and the rooms! A “fancy hostel” with a hippy vibe, that is close to so much! Can’t wait to be back and stay for a whole week next time! :)

I didn’t like that booking showed me with taxes that it was firty something and when I arrived it was 71 $, they didn’t even have a restaurant for everything they want to charge you, they only sell beer and water. Not even something to buy
