Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Good size room. Nice staff very friendly. Could hear the next room talking even though talking quietly it was like the walls were made from cardboard. It's not good if you want a good night's sleep. Shower very temperamental, water was worryingly going near bathroom door as though it was going to leak into the main room as walk in shower / toilet floor not properly measured.

I mean sure , the facilities could have been better but we didn't experience anything weird or dramatic like some other reviews! Just make sure you're 21 to check in :)
The hotel is overall very decent, especially if you're on a budget, it's close to the center ( about a 20 -25 min walk) ,the staff is friendly and it's generally pretty clean (towels and sheets changed 3 times on our 4 days stay) . They also let us leave our stuff past our check out time , which is a plus .

Reception is not 24 hrs but still manageable.
The location is perfect. Near to the grocery store for budget traveler. Self check in is very easy to follow.

There was a bug in the room, probably from the backyard. So i did not feel like opening the windows even though the room needed fresh air.
The neighborhood was amazing. The property was accesible by foot and it felt really safe walking around.

At the reception, we were told that was forbidden to smoke in the room, but the room was stinking of cigarettes so bad that was nearly impossible to stay inside. The shower is very old and was very hard to make it work.

The sheets were a bit dirty. Felt there was a lack of toilet paper. One of staff was a bit rude when they approach me asking if I had a room, when I was already staying there for 2 days

Floor was quite dirty, the basement area smelt like cigarettes (there is a large penalty for smoking in this hotel so I’m not sure why it reeked of cigarettes).
Location was amazing. We got the basement room which was quite spacious, especially for Amsterdam. Coffee machine for free coffee which is always a plus. Late check in and early check out easily accommodated.

The hotel had a weird smell overall and didn't look very clean.
The location was good, very central. We also had a supermarket right in front of the hotel, which was nice for breakfast.

Wi-Fi not good. For tram, metro or bus, you have to walk a bit, like 8 or 10 min.
It was one of the cheapest accommodations with a private room I could find. Definitely worthy it.

The room had not been fully serviced correctly before our arrival after check in time so had to ask them to come back, clean it and put in toilet roll. people smoked outside our window when we were on the ground floor and talked throughout the night. The front door slams when people come in it which again you can hear on the ground floor rooms. The main bedroom door was not sealed correctly and allowed light to shine in. The basin was slightly blocked and water did not drain away correctly, the hot water for the shower took a long time to come through in the mornings and was only warm. The mirror on the wall is mounted only for very tall people if your under 5ft 8 you won't see yourself at all.
Easy to find, close to the city and the staff very friendly. Quick to clean up mistakes. Memory foam bed very comfortable. This place is reasonably priced for being close to the centre and does have a lidl opposite for amenities as well as a lovely market 4 minutes walking distance.

It needs a new mattress on the bed. And more lighting. The safe in the room didn’t work nor did the TV.
It was good there was a front desk and the staff were very helpful. And a secure and safe hotel.
