It is so noisy, there is a bar n Just next door and play music whole night. Because it is the adjacent houses, so you can feel the vibrant at night.

The staff was very helpful. It was my first time being in the Netherlands and they were easy to give me tips and directions to get around the city. The bed was comfortable and everyone was super nice. Definitely a recommended stay in Rotterdam

But the entrance of the hostel was very noisy as it was in a street with bars and pubs. I woke up because of the noise when it was about to be morning. They give you a pair of earplugs. But it's still hard not to be bothered by the noise…

Since the hostel is in the center, you can walk to many places. Close to lots of places to eat. Staff are friendly and helpful. They helped me in many ways. Thank you for all. :)

- On a lively street, which unfortunately means that there is sound over night. Although the hostel offers free ear plugs to counter this. Comes with the territory. -Shelving inside the shower itself would be a massive quality of life improvement

This is an absolutely amazing hostel. The front of house is a cafe that is on a lively street. The cafe itself is actually really good both the coffee and the carrot cake were amazing. The rooms were spacious, had heaps of natural light, good size lockers and were overall fairly clean. The facility is well equipped, everything works as intended and works well. The street that this hostel is on has a lot to offer from gastronomic adventures to partying. I could have spent my whole time at and/or near the hostel in Rotterdam and left a happy man.

I was eaten something so i was getting ichy all night. I do not know what was it. Room was 8 people dormitory and there was no air conditioner so i do not recommend that. it was 6/10 point to stay.

Room was very fuggily, there was no possibly to open windows - bunk beds stayed near the windows and street was very loud to ~3-4am, tue/wed night. You should take any earplugs. Upper bed didn't have parapet and it was uncomfortable - I'm afraid of heights

- we had the private room (room 206) for 2 nights July 23-25 — the room was unbearably hot even with two fans running (no A/C) - it was only 22deg at night but we could not sleep more than a few hours total (both nights) - the fridge in our room was broken (which would have helped greatly with the heat having cold drinks), we asked the front desk, they said they would talk to manager in 5min, 1hr later we went down again only to have the staff confirm that it was indeed broken and that we should use communal fridge (no fix was offered) - upon arrival there were clumps of hair on the ground and poop in the toilet - the main light while on barely produced any light, it was basically pitch black at night, we had to prop the bathroom door open to get light in the room (bathroom door would not stay open on it’s own) - overall the room was old and some baseboards have fallen of the wall, some artwork was clearly missing with giant hooks in the wall

- location to city center - able to check in over 2hrs early which was appreciated - despite alot of street noise outside, we could not hear anything which was great

The lockers are so uncomfortable and risky to use. My locker had a broken hinge which I did not notice initially. It came crashing down on my elbow and resulted in an injury. The staff gave me ice to ease the pain in a timely manner. I requested the staff to allocate me a bed on the bottom as it was difficult to climb to my bed on top. They said since I had already prepared my bed and climbed on top they cannot give me another bed. I requested them for quite some time due to the injury caused in the process of using their faulty locker, but they just repeated their rules. The night staff seemed like they wanted to help but they had to go by the rules and were not in an authority to make decisions. The management was fast asleep by then!!! On a normal day, the hostel would have gotten a good rating from me. But they were unable to think out of the box in an exceptional situation. Dealing with expections is a test for any business venture, and looks like this hostel failed in it. I also enquired about filing for insurance for compensation for my health, time and money. The management asked me to send my medical examination reports for it. I sent them my medical examination report and I am still waiting for their response after a week.

The hostel was clean and the staff responded well to common requirements.

Dear King Kong Hostel, My brother and I recently stayed in Room 206 between the 19th - 21st of July and would like to request a partial refund for our booking, of at least one nights stay. The reasons for this request are: - For both nights at the hostel our room was unbearably hot throughout the day and night - even once the outside temperature had dropped to 20 degrees. I spoke with staff multiple times, with on staff member recognising this room was known for being “notoriously hot”. After being unable to change rooms we were suggested to just “put a wet towel on the fan” - which in itself is a electric hazard. The room stayed extremely hot for our entire stay, making it extremely difficult to sleep and the fan blowing hot air around the room did not help. - The room had extremely poor ventilation, with the window only opening 10cm, trapping in all the hot air. - The fridge did not work, which is advertised in the room ad as an amenity which we paid for. I left a drink in there for 24 hours and it was room temperature. - Extremely poor lighting, the main light in the room was incredibly dim, so after no solutions were presented by the staff I had to result to wearing a head torch to pack my belongings. I’ve attached images to substantiate this. Our stay due to these reasons was incredibly disappointing and would like to receive a partial refund, thank you.
