Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesStairs were really steep and narrow steps.
Just what I hoped for—European feel with a modern boho vibe. Breakfast was all fresh made to order. Lots of well-balanced, healthy food that tasted great. At night I loved trying the different drinks and chatting with friendly locals and visitors. Perfect location.

United KingdomRoom was beautifully decorated and very quirky. Cocktails were amazing and the Cocktail Mixer was a real character and very knowledgable. The real surprise was the quality of the breakfast, it was amazing. Really good location as well. We will stay again and have recommended to our friends already.

United StatesThe bed was not firm enough for us and after a week we both felt the aches and pains in our body.
Loved the cozy space of the bar and the excellent staff. It was much more quiet than what I was afraid off once I realized just how close to the red light district and coffee houses it is. The room was adequate a little hard for two adults to move around but cozy.

United StatesLittle things in the room. Do not expect a high end “hotel” room - it is a B&B with 6 rooms. If you stay in a room with a canal view expect to hear a good bit of street noise late at night - mainly people talking loudly right below your room. The lighting is a bit hard to work with. No data ports, be sure you’ve have converters from 110V. Takes a bit for hot water to come up but it is plentiful and hot; hairdryer only had cool air, and if your not tall hard to dry hair and use mirror in the bathroom. But the bed was comfortable and room was clean and spacious.
The location can’t be beat - superbly accessible to walking and public transportation to all parts of the city. And the owners/staff are super helpful and accommodating. Cannot say enough about the owners and how lovely and welcoming they were. I would stay here again - it is charming and quaint and they have a bar that feels like a speakeasy with great bartenders who know their craft.

United StatesI had a canal room...so if your looking for a quiet room...don't open the windows.. If you have mobility issues, the stairs might be too much.
Quirky little place with amazing staff. Right in the middle of all the action. The bar was so fun! Breakfast was great, fresh and delicious. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was really nice...good water pressure and hot water.

United StatesNot much comes to mind right away. It was a little difficult to find the place when we came in at night but that was mostly due to us not being familiar yet with the city.
Location was fantastic, super walkable to train station and things we wanted to do. The staff was so nice in the mornings and breakfast was so much better than expected. Was not expecting a freshly made meal each day and it was so refreshing. The bed and pillows were comfy and the heated floors in the bathroom were such a nice touch after a shower.

United KingdomThe stairs are very steep at the venue so you need to be fit and able. There’s no breakfast buffet - it’s a set menu.
Quaint, comfortable and great location. Lovely yummy breakfast. Place is super cute and minutes from the train station. Loads of cafe restaurants and lots of lovely choice. Adjacent to the red light district but really wasn’t a problem. The bed was super comfy and it was a really pleasant stay.

Great location, funky eclectic feel with top end comforts and setup. This place has a great feel and runs like a well oiled machine. Cute tidy room that was quiet, aircon worked well as we stayed in summer.

United StatesThe location is pretty central, but keep in mind that it is really close to the Red Light District, so the streets around the property are really dirty and it can get noise at night.

United StatesOne caveat: canal rooms will get late-night noise as the various bar closings occur: 1AM, 3AM bar closings and then another round of noise around 4 or 5. The hotel supplies earplugs and a white noise machine, but I’m a light sleeper so this noise definitely impacted my stay. That said, I would still stay here again.
Menagerie Had a good stay at the inn. Rooms that seemed large for Amsterdam, with seating and storage. Bathroom was tiny, but that’s to be expected. A location a bit away from the daily tourist hordes arriving by train, but definitely in the path of red-light district revelers. Good location for visiting museums. It was a 20 minute leisurely walk to museum plein. Breakfast set us up for the day: eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit, coffee, pastries. I enjoyed nightly cocktails at the bar, which is quaint and cozy. Their cocktails draw visitors from both the inn and others who are not staying; some nights the bar was really packed and lively! The cocktail selection rotates seasonally I think. It was kind of fun to slip past other patrons and behind the hidden door to rooms upstairs. Staff was helpful with recommendations for restaurants.
