Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesIt’s a bit expensive.
Room was big and clean with comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The small restaurant had good food. The free fresh milk for guests was delicious. Everything is walkable especially the Wai Ariki Resort & Spa and Polynesian Spa. Lots of eating places near the hotel.

AustraliaThe room was spacious, but the bathroom sink was located in an open area, and it got a bit noisy at night. There was no swimming pool, which is surprising for a 5-star hotel. Breakfast was average, falling short of what you’d typically expect from a hotel of this rating.

New ZealandOur bed was the most uncomfortable. We woke up every morning sore from it. Our room leaked when it rained. We mentioned it to the staff. Silicone sealer was then put around the windows etc. But the water still found it's way in through it. It rained for 4 days, so had towels down on our ledges to soak it up. Lucky we didn't have any of our luggage stored near this!
Location was great.

New Zealandthe privacy of the toilet was poor, to the extent I had to leave the room for my partner to feel comfortable using the toilet. There was not water bottles, although tap water was excellent. No parking, only expensive valet parking. Many other Rotorua hotels have parking.
it was clean, comfortable, great location. Food in restaurant was good too.

New ZealandI stubbed my toe on the shower entry. I agree with your sustainability goals, but the lack of cold water on our floor was an unseen hurdle. Only to have a tap at the bar, as if I should have drawn from our taps in the room. The lighting switches are not in a convenient position. Our room 407 seemed to have a lot of dead space, and we disliked the small glass panels before the windows. (I am guessing they are a safety measure) Also, the bar overhead is very bulky, I'm quite tall, but I couldn't make eye contact with the servers. The big one, though, the lack of separation between bedroom and bathroom. That's the dislikes. The likes 👍. The entry is gorgeous. The staff are very approachable. The location is extremely convenient. Everything was clean. The bar and restaurant have a broad capability. The temporary parks and valet were superb. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. We enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomThe set up of the in-room toilet is very strange; a cubicle that is made up of frosted glass and is not floor to ceiling. There is no extractor fan either. The shower is also a frosted glass cubicle with minimal privacy, and the sink area is open plan to the room. Overall a poor design.
Breakfast was good and off street parking was surprisingly available.

New ZealandOver priced food for what we got.
The staff, was amazing. There were a few mishaps with the booking and had to be downgraded due to air conditioning not working but the staff did their best to counter that with other services like valet parking etc.
