Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomComplementary bottles of water in the bedroom would have been a nice touch.
I liked this hotel a lot. It was historic and full of character and well located to get around the old town (which isn't very big). We had a top floor room which was much larger than I expected and was stylish with a very comfy bed and a nice modern bathroom. The road at the front of the hotel was quite a busy one in the mornings but our room was well insulated from any noise and we slept really well. The owner had been really good to us as we were arriving in the early hours of the morning so she had emailed me to tell me that the hotel reception was prepared for us and she also arranged a taxi from the airport. The whole place was well kept and well managed and was very clean. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly and although few spoke English my basic Spanish got us through fine. Breakfast was okay but hadn't a great deal of choice. All in all this was a lovely hotel and was fantastic value.

United StatesThe staff was phenomenal, helping us with all our needs, serving us those marvelous breakfasts, that personal touch of the scrambled eggs and the toasted sandwiches. They were available to make recommendations and guide us. This was our first stop in Paraguay and it remains one of my fondest memories, our first bit of discoveries. Our room was spacious, and the balcony allowed us to watch the busy street below. The hotel itself was so open and like the "palace" of the name. Had we not spent so much time outside exploring, we would have enjoyed the little bar and the lounge, I'm sure. As for location, it was a convenient walk to the center of the city and the Senatur office. Thank you to all the staff who were always there to assist us.

United KingdomNone.
It is rare to stay in a place that is recognised as a place with historical value. Asuncion Palace is such a place. Steeped in history, and full of character, the rooms were big with features reflecting its history. I had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to go back when I visit Asuncion next.

PortugalAs in many places in Central/ South America it is wise to bring ear plugs to block out traffic noise
The hotel is beautiful inside and out and has been tastefully updated with a wonderful light breakfast room , huge stylish guest lounge and lovely hallways. It felt more 4 stars than 3 stars to me. My room had two doors - the room and then the bedroom. I loved it- this is always my favourite feature. You don't hear the other guests. The in-room television had BBC and CNN in English and ESPN to catch up on the english Premier League and other sports. Scrambled eggs were cooked freshly for breakfast. All the staff I met were super polite, friendly, helpful and charming. I asked for help with laundry and got all my clothes beautifully washed, pressed and ironed. Excellent value for money

Staff is very friendly and attentions to assist with whatever is necessary. Breakfast starts at 7h and has enough options. My bedroom was quiet and close to the balcony where I could watch the sunset every day. The shower was like a waterfall on my head, amazing! I do recommend it.

United KingdomNothing much!
Lovely old building, really helpful and friendly staff. Very comfortable rooms. Very little English spoken but with our broken Spanish and the use of phone translation we got by fine. They were so helpful with taxis and without asking offered us the rooms for a couple of extra hours on check out day, which considering the heat (38°c) was really kind. Breakfast is a little sparse but freshly cooked eggs and toasties make up for that. Location is very handy for various sites. Would stay again.

SwitzerlandEverything was perfect!
This wonderful hotel has the charm of an Italian palace and is located in the heart of historic Asuncion. I stayed here for a week and the hotel is in walking distance from great restaurants, shops and the centre. The staff and management are amazing friendly people with a true spirit of hospitality. They go above and beyond my expectations. Very clean rooms with all comfort and we even had a private terrace on the top floor of the hotel! Ideal for chilling and relaxing after a city tour. Also the breakfast was a nice highlight of the day. I warmly recommend this “pearl” to anyone! Such a great refreshment from the boring modern chain hotels! Thank you for our wonderful stay with you and we will come back !👍😀💯

United StatesThe WiFi in our room wad touch and go though it worked well in the lobby.
We loved this hotel! It is way nicer than the pictures led us to believe. It is one of the historical registered buildings in the city (an old palace!). Our room was huge with a large balcony and views almost to the river. The shower worked well, and the front desk staff was so kind. There is a garage with limited parking, so contact them in advance if you need that. The location is great, less than a 10 minute walk to the main plaza.

AustraliaA boutique hotel with history. As a small hotel, it does not have all the facilities of large, modern hotels. Instead, it has maintained its character while being refreshed. My room was a touch Spartan, but large. Staff are a real standout - so helpful. Great value for money.
