We had the pleasure of spending our Christmas holidays at Gold Zanzibar, and it was nothing short of spectacular. This hotel is a gem in a breathtaking location, set on what is arguably the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the functional management and the attentive, responsive staff. The team was both friendly and professional, always going above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. Special thanks to Nicole, Salim, Khadidja, and the rest of the team for their exceptional hospitality! The food options were simply outstanding—high quality, diverse, and impeccably managed. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal was a delight. The entertainment was perfectly balanced—enjoyable without being overbearing. One of the highlights of our stay was being upgraded to a villa. It was spacious, luxurious, and offered an unforgettable experience. The overall quality of the hotel is truly five-star, from the accommodations to the amenities. If you’re planning a trip to Zanzibar, look no further than Gold Zanzibar. It’s a paradise in every sense of the word. We can’t wait to return!

Deserts were not the best. Would have liked a larger variety of ice-creams.

Overall cleanlines was good. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help with any issues or questions. The hotel room was really nice and spacious. Location is great with an amazing beach. Food was excellent and Chef was brilliant.

The desserts could definitely be improved upon. Given the rest of the food is amazing, desserts definitely let them down. Drinks menu is lacking. Selection of wines and drinks definitely not up to par. The last thing is not a complaint as such. The resort could definitely do with more foliage around the pool area just to give it some extra shade and help with the glare.

The food was excellent. Rooms were great. Staff were amazing. They really went the extra mile.

The food, too little variety. We don’t all prefer seafood. The drinks were crazy expensive, even regular drinks. The pool closes at 7 pm, this nonsense for a resort. I hate being in the sun and I prefer swimming at night.

Marvelous It’s the best hotel I visited so far, words are not enough to explain the whole positive experience we had Hotel and stuff are simply perfect doing more than expected to make you feel like real queen ,from early accommodation at 05a.m.to huge clean rooms with everything inside Food is excellent and they are offering various dishes,both fish,meat,pasta,pizza,fresh salad and fruit,a huge desert options The spa experience is also perfect with real professionals working inside The pool is quite big and very clean with a lot of sun beds around The beach is white sand with azure water,very clean and nice It is a perfect place for honeymoon as well as couples with children I will definitely visit this hotel again Strongly recommended for anybody planning a trip to Zanzibar

Loved it all.

Location and layout excellent. On probably the largest and best beach on the island, plenty of beach umbrellas and sun beds but nicely spaced out. Gardens are delightful, well managed. Amazing sunsets, sea views stunning. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food choices are exceptional. Dhow sunset cruise great fun.

Swimming pool is great and really a large one but need better mainentance and refurbished. The pool could be in better condition; some of the mosaic tiles are coming loose from the edges or the bottom and are scattered all around.

Breakfast was great especially the fruits like mangos, pineapple etc. People were extremely helpful and friendly, the facilities e.g. garden, flowers well maintained

Everything was beyond perfect, we couldn’t recommend it more.

The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always looking after us and making sure we were happy throughout our stay. The food was fantastic, incredibly varied and themed every single night. The entertainment also exceeded our expectations- from fire shows, to masaai dances, dinner time was always guaranteed to be a good time. We loved every night for each unique show presented and even became friends with some of the locals! We got to walk along the coastline on the beachside, and even though there are plenty of resorts nearby we thought Gold’s beach was the best one by far! Quieter, clearer water and no jellyfish which we found in other stretches of beach affected most by tides. Throughout our stay we also got to meet Nicole, manager of guests relations who was lovely and offered us a free sunset cruise on the resort boat which was really amazing. It felt we were so welcomed and appreciated as guests! The hotel also had special rooms that allowed us to shower and change clothes after our check out allowing us to enjoy one last day of beach and facilities in the most comfortable way possible. Overall it really felt like we experienced one week of paradise.

Please please check the dates of the full moon party at the neighbouring hotel, as we had assumed it would be on the full moon, it was in fact on a date without a full moon and the noise is crazy loud until 4am. Unless you are a fan of buffet book the full board package to enjoy the meals at the Gold restaurant. Be aware that there is not much outside of the resort but you do have everything you need at the resort.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, the room is spacious with a large balcony. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The Gold restaurant is exceptional and we enjoyed many meals and drinks here! Special mention to Chef Warren and the lovely wait staff who always made us feel welcome. Try the catch of the day if you visit - delicious! Would like to mention the lovely Nicole (customer relationship manager) she is an absolute gem and ensured any issues were resolved quickly and we left feeling we had the 5 star experience we were hoping for. We were lucky enough to experience the lobster dinner on the beach front which was wonderful! The spa is exceptional! Highly recommended spending some time here during your stay.

Everything was great, we have no complaints but only compliments

The staff were amazing, the service is exceptional at gold. I still cannot believe how well we were treated, I have never ever been to a hotel with such amazing management and staff. 10* would be less to rate, they deserve 100* I have recommended this place to all my family and friends already, I don’t think any other hotel will meet the expectations from this hotel. We are so grateful for the most amazing 5 nights with amazing service and staff. Staff members Thomas and khadijah took really good care of us, and Ali said. The staff deserve medals for their effort and hard work. Before even asking for anything that we needed it was in front of us. I do not have words to describe how amazing every single staff member were at the resort, always happy to help with a big massive smile on their faces.

everything! It was above and beyond! The food, the place, the atmosphere, the staff. We enjoyed our stay very much. We were a family with 2 little girls. Everyone was very friendly and they also took care of us that my husband accidentally stepped on a sea urchin. Everything was just perfect! I have no doubt we will be back

Actually all was great. If I have to find something: the concierge giving info about trips and visits on the island could show be a bit more interest and offer/promote possible tours/trips more pro-actively.

The location of the hotel is great, directly on a wide sandy beach. The hotel is very spacious and it is at all time possible to find empty beds at the beach or at the pool. We had half-board and the food was amazing; very wide selection with local and international dishes. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

The prices in their spa are expensive. But luckily just next door there is a local spa where you can get massages and your hair braided for a third of their price.

Gold Zanzibar Beach hotel is a five star hotel. The room was very big and the food was very good. The whole inclusive formula was worth it. It has a good size swimming pool and a nice beach with lounge chairs.

We took the all inclusive deal. The place is beautiful and the staff are great. The food is a big buffet with seafood and on-the-spot cooked steaks, really high quality stuff. Yet we suffered from stomach issues. Though I’m not sure if it started there or just continued there. Ended up eating rice for the remainder of the stay. The massage was good

The service at this hotel is the best I have experienced. Khadija and Salim took great (and warm) care of us, following up on everything related to us and our stay. Nicole took care of any concerns with sincerity. Front desk Ali and the others, all so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Others, like Tunu, Abu Bakr, Washa and so many others that unfortunately would be impossible to mention all their names, made us feel happy, special and made our experience extremely enjoyable. Special mention to the impressive daily atmosphere and food of Kilimanjaro restaurant. Lovely hotel, on a beautiful beach.
