United StatesThere was some sort of confusion. One of the staff members claimed that our checkout was on June 27 when in fact it was the 28th. She said she called me numerous times and left messages on my phone while we were out touring. When I returned I told her we were staying until the 28th and had in fact paid already. She said no you are only here until the 27th. I showed her my Booking.com confirmation and I also showed her my phone which indicated I neither received any phone calls from the hotel and no voice messages. She finally said there must be some miscommunication between Booking.com and their system. Problem was resolved but I am concerned the trust factor of her claim she called me numerous times and left voice messages when in fact we had no calls or voice messages. I will have to make sure I am not double charged. I had her verify that she had my correct phone number.
The manager was a great guy. We had an issue with our air conditioner. He came in and attempted to fix it. He allowed us to change rooms. We slept excellent in the new room provided.

United StatesHousekeeping could pay more attention to placing the seams on the light shades in the back instead of the front of ALL the lamps and straightening the shades so they are not ALL crooked. There were noticeable cobwebs in the corner behind the floor lamp. Also the bedskirt was noticeable long on one side and short on the other--a little time could have been spent to straighten it under the mattress. Kinda felt the cloth armchair probably had not been cleaned/washed for a long time/never. These things that were overlooked made me feel the room was hastily cleaned instead of taking the time to notice the details of high quality care/cleaning. (I have been an operations specialist for large facilities so hospitality and guest satisfaction is very important to me). Front lobby seemed a little cluttered for decorations and the holly/pine decoration in front of fireplace seemed out of season. Some times less is more. Although we only had time in the room for one movie, Closed Caption (CC) was not working on the remote for my sister who is Deaf so this was not ADA accessible. Forgot to tell the hotel that the bathroom toilet was not flushing properly. The handle needed to be held down to enable it to flush. Housekeeping should have noticed and reported this when cleaning it. Only hot item was sausage, though toast/bagels and oatmeal packets were available to be made by guests. Hardees was nearby for hot breakfast choices.
Front Desk was pleasant, helpful, and suggested the free movie playing that evening in town. A first floor guest room was switched from second floor for accessibility which was appreciated. Breakfast was good with a nice variety for everyone. We made reservations earlier this year to stay in Waukon where our family reunion was held at the Waukon Park. It was much cleaner here and better customer service than the Super 8 in Decorah (where we will NEVER stay again) after trying them two years because the Boarders Inn & Suites was full.

United StatesThe carpet felt damp. There is a moldy smell in the hotel and especially in the room. It didn’t feel very clean. The whole hotel needs a deep cleaning and updated paint and remodeling.
Breakfast was good. Staff was nice. Air conditioning worked well. Location in town is great.
