Refrigerator didn’t work and there was no microwave

There was a refrigerator in the room, but no coffee maker or water boiler or microwave. However, the staff at the desk was kind enough to microwave something for me, and offered hot water if needed.

The place was right on the main East-West highway through Amarillo, and with its distinctive architecture was easy to find. Check in and check out was as easy as it could be. Everything is the room was well worn, but the room was nice size and adequate in all major respects. There was complimentary coffee available in the lobby in the morning. I've paid as much for a place to camp as I paid for a room at The Camelot. It is not the Ritz, but I would be happy stay here again.

The wifi wasn't very good kept losing internet connection, and wall plug receptacles needed updating.

The only issue was that the entire upper floor was closed off due to safety concerns. We stayed on the first floor, but would have liked to have taken photos from the 2nd floor. Otherwise, no issues. This fact that the 2nd floor was closed caused concerns that this facility might close. It would be a shame to lose a hotel with such a unique design.

The design of the hotel. Similar to a castle. The price was very good also. The pizza place recommended by the staff was excellent also.

There was a soap but not shampoo provided. That was expected, so it's not a drawback, but with an overall good experience a little shampoo bottle would have made an experience even better.

Surprisingly rooms were in good condition, clean, wifi was fast and worked well.

They need a new sign I almost missed the entrance. I would recommend some remodeling and new beds and sheets.

You could tell the parking was redone. Smelled like the just cleaned. The staff were nice. I did like that some of the decor was trying to fit the theme.

Some of the furniture is getting a little tired and stained. Might be time to start updating.

I stay here every time I am in Amarillo. I love the layout of the rooms and the second door. Parking is always easy and the beds are clean and soft. Internet is always good.

I had no dislikes. Yes the place is older and could use some touch up work but as a whole it was good.

The staff was great. Very informative about the area and things to do. After reading reviews was worried about the room. It was fantastic for an older motel. The water pressure was GREAT, the room was clean and smelled fresh. The beds were very comfortable.

This isn’t a brand new motel. It’s been around a long time, so expect that there will be quirks.

Enjoyed our stay in this cute vintage castle shaped hotel. The facilities are clean and well maintained for an older property. Great water pressure in the shower! I have no complaints and felt the room was above average for the age.
