Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyRoom was pretty outdated, would be nice to add an actual door to the bathroom shower so you don’t end up splashing water on the floors when showering and then having a falling accident.
Location was excellent, first row to the beach enterance. Hotel staff and receptionist were very helpful and answered all of our questions.

United KingdomA few things we noticed that are worth mentioning.. no coffee machine or ability to make coffee in the room. Only one hook to hang towels on in the bathroom. Only a tiny space for our own toiletries in the bathroom No way to turn the air conditioning completely off. Adults offered tea or coffee with breakfast but NO drink offered to kids apart from milk. This was particularly odd.

United KingdomThe hotel is older but you stay for that reason and whilst it doesn’t have all the facilities of newer hotels it makes up for it with charm.

CanadaI don't have much to say negatively other than I found the staff overall to be a bit aloof and not extremely helpful other attentive in general. However, Juan, who works during the day, was a lovely and helpful, caring person who went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and happy. He is a good face of the hotel in terms of how staff should behave. The night staff Juan, however, was not like this and didn't seem to know much, nor was he helpful. He gave me a weird vibe each time I had to approach him and I infact avoided him after a few encounters where I found he seems put off by having to do his job rather than sit behind the desk on his phone. I've been in many places, and his attitude didn't suit a hotel environment. He didn't even properly explain where the beach was the first day or how to get chairs. And I ended up in the wrong place. The next morning, I asked Juan to day staff, and he gave me simple directions and details with ease and a smile. They should work on customer care. Otherwise, the stay was good. But dark in the rooms because of lack of light but so fresh and clean. It's not like a regular hotel, so you deal with little quirks like no coffee or tea in the room, runny toilets, and no maintenance at certain hours. Little things like that, but in no way a bad stay.
The Cavalier was an interesting hotel in the Art Devo District of South Beach, directly located on Ocean Drive in the middle of a bustling but heavily guarded and safe area of Miami for Solo Travellers. I went for a quick few days at the beach, and this was perfect. The private beach area with chairs offered is only a short few minute walk and there is lots of food around you to enjoy. The rooms were clean, but sparce with a bit of a Bates Motel type vibe in an upscale way, the exposed brick in the rooms and giant comfy beds make for a relaxing stay. The breakfast included was decent, but the items were minimal. Don't expect buffet style, and your choices are limited, too. The Cordoza next door had some of the best food on the strip, and after speaking to many locals, I found they recommended that place, and The Betsy Ross. You may be disappointed with a lack of care, quality, and service at the other locations. There is a cute little delicious Italian sandwich shop right behind Starbucks, which makes a great cheap lunch. Lots of shopping, go up, and check out Washington Ave and Collins. And the little pastry shop next door serves fresh smoothies, juices, and some yummy stuff too for decent prices. None the less you can't go wrong for a few nights in Miami. Great location! Intresting place to stay, and I felt safe.

CanadaOnly issue is part of the street that this hotel,as well as others, is for pedestrians only so have to park at end of the block (15 min limit) to check in or drop your bag on street (if partner with you) around the corner and then park in parking garage a few minutes walk away which is an additional $20/24 hrs. One king bedroom was comfortable but could be a tight squeeze for some.
A very nice boutique hotel with a gorgeous lobby with a bar. Nice, helpful staff. Breakfasts included were freshly prepared and plentiful. Very convenient area on Ocean Drive.

United StatesThis wasn't a problem for me, but the stairs could be challenging for some - the lighting was low. The elevator worked well, but it was a bit cumbersome to use. On the upside, the elevator is historic and was included on the art deco walking tour I took.
Great location, super helpful staff, and very atmospheric if you are looking for the art deco experience. The facilities have been upgraded but still retain the art deco style. The breakfast options included in the resort fee were sufficient for a short stay, and the food was very good.

United KingdomOur room was on the first floor, with a side window, which had film over it, so no view of much light coming in.

SwitzerlandOur room no. 114 at the very end of the hallway has a window facing the backstreet where garbage trucks are collecting waste early morning. Also the 3 fire alarms in the middle of the night were not pleasant and no apologies from the hotel managers or receptionist at check-out. Overall soundproofing was not optimal as one could hear people walking in the hallway. Another negative point was the lack of English knowledge by some employees, especially at the restaurant.
The architecture of this historic Art Deco hotel is magnificent and definitely worth a stay. Excellent location, directly on Ocean drive, and facing the beautiful Lummus Park Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Everything is within walking distance.
