Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyIf you're traveling with many bags in march 2025 check the neighbourhood area: there are construction works so you might want to plan your route accordingly. It would also be lovely to have a kettle in the room.
An absolute gem in NYC! I chose a room with a view and it was one of the best experiences in this city: sunset was incredible and in the morning you can get a bagel and a coffee from one of many cool places nearby and enjoy it as "breakfast with the view". A possibility to control everything with Ipad is a nice bonus. Also, the location is just unbeatable: there are so many good restaurants, cafes, bars around that it makes it absolutely enjoyble to stay here. A hotel is in 2-4 minutes from different subway stations making it easy to reach any station in NYC, Williamsburg is just around the corner, in case you're looking for less popular sightseeing options. There is also an abundance of streetwear shops around the corner.

United StatesThe public area at this particular CitizenM doubles as a kind of WeWork place so it gets crowded with non-hotel residents that are just working. The plus side is that they happen to be interesting people.
I have rated many CitizenM hotels before but basically if you enjoy Euro/Asia style of tiny but high tech and comfy little room with great public space then you will love it; alterantively if you expect a traditional hotel room you will be disappointed. I happen to travel all over the world so this is what I like, and would definitely stay again. If I was with a family on a sightseeing trip I would not stay here, but for work, short trips, it is a great area and a nicely run place.

AustraliaThe room was amazing but the other parts of the hotel experience weren't. I arrived late at night after a very long wait at the airport and the staff member at the desk wasn't at all friendly or welcoming. She just pointed me to a kiosk to check myself in without saying anything, and didn't offer any information about the hotel. I had to ask where the elevator was, etc, just to figure out how to finalise my check in and get to my room. I also had to flip the quilt on the bed because there was a stain on top part, so the room could have been cleaner. I'd stay again just for the ambience of the room, which was perfect for a two-night stay, but I didn't enjoy the vibe of the communal areas and reception, which felt a bit standoffish.
I enjoyed my stay here. The room in particular was excellent: the lighting was amazing, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the amenities were all well thought-out. It's a small space, as advertised, but the arrangement of the furniture made it all very comfortable. I loved the view and the iPad which controlled the lighting, television, blinds and a bunch of other things. The shower was exceptional and the location is good; it's close to the subway and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and cute bars nearby.

United StatesThe room is relatively small, but we made it work. If I could change anything about the room, it would be for both occupants to be able to exit the bed without climbing over one another.
I love the funky atmosphere of this hotel. It's so much fun to walk around and look at all the unique artwork and decorations. I liked the Cloud bar and enjoyed some of the signature cocktails. Very convenient location to subway and to wonderful restaurants!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable, and we loved the custom mood lighting. Rooms were cleaned well. While the rooms are on the smaller side, the hotel makes up for it with the social spaces and the roof top bar with amazing views. The Pelaton bike in the gym was a bonus too.
