Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanA couple of days we got stuck in the lift (it got stuck near floor 1 so we got out by returning to floor 2 which wasn't a disaster, and took the stairs but... maintenance seems to be a problem especially since this happened on two consecutive days).
It's an OK budget hotel located near the university and near a stop in the local metro/tram system (Green line between Minneapolis and St. Paul). The room is a good size and the breakfast was OK (typical for a budget US hotel). However, the price was OK which is good considering how expensive the US can be, and there are quite a few restaurants nearby and a supermarket one metro stop away. Airport access isn't bad either - Blue line for about 30 mins then Green line for 10 mins. I might stay here again depending on prices of alternatives.

United StatesThe room smelled extremely wet and musty, it almost knocked us over when we entered. The floor was wet as well. Tried to change rooms but told they were full. The windows didn't open so we had to prop the door open to get fresher air. Staff did come and spray with air freshener but it didn't help much.
Breakfast good, location great, staff friendly.

SwitzerlandAbsolutely dreadful experience! I checked in on Aug 19, hoping for a comfortable stay, but it turned out to be a nightmare. First, they gave me a ground floor room near the entrance and parking lot, essentially making my room a fishbowl for anyone passing by. Sleep was impossible due to the constant noise, and I had to keep the curtains shut all the time. They moved me to another room, but that was no better - my room turned out to be right above the back entrance of the hotel which was for all practical purposes, a noisy smoking lounge at all hours, infiltrating my room with stench and noise. Housekeeping was a joke. They conveniently 'forgot' to clean my room and replace towels, blaming it on the hotel being full. After returning from a long day at the University, I had to carry used towels myself and get new ones from reception. Oh, and the laundry situation? Given the unbelievably hot and humid weather, I had to use more clothes than planned. Despite their 'cashless' policy, they demanded cash for using the laundry, and refused to put it on my card. The manager's rudeness when I confronted them was unbelievable. I was not carrying any cash, therefore ultimately I could not use the laundry facility. As a result I had no choice but to wear my used clothes for last 2 days of my stay! As if that wasn't enough, a 7 AM fire alarm on Aug 23 rattled me awake, with no information provided on evacuation. I had to call reception to learn that it was a false alarm. On Aug 24, their room service played a perfect no-show act, and when they finally turned up during my important Zoom call, they gave me an ultimatum - 'Now or never.' And don't get me started on check-out. They flatly refused to give me a receipt. This hotel is an absolute disaster in every way. Unless you enjoy zero comfort, nonexistent cleanliness, and staff with attitudes, stay far, far away. Avoid this hotel like the plague!
The only saving grace was its proximity to the University of Minnesota, but that's not nearly enough to justify enduring this hellhole. The breakfast was included in my stay. However it was not vegetarian friendly at all.

United StatesStaff was great but management sucked. No management on site always away when at front desk. I reserved a Double bed corporate suite, and my room was given to someone else. As a result, when I checked in, they only had a single room available. I am a business traveler but, on this occasion, it was personal with my family. Room had dirty sheets on them. It was a long drive from Chicago and then I had to sleep on the floor. I still paid full price for the room of two beds when promised a credit. Not happy I will never stay at this hotel on our stays in Minneapolis ever again business or personal.
Staff was very nice and friendly. Everthing else did not meet even the minimum standards for a Hotel.

United StatesBathroom was very small. Breakfast was very limited but not at all as bad as some others have said. Wi-Fi did not work at all. Worst part was that both of us had terrible allergic reactions to something in the room. Kept us up our entire last night. If you have allergies to dust, mold, pet dander, or down (?) you should go somewhere else.
Great location, less than a minute walk to a train stop and next to tons of great food options.
