United StatesWe had room 203. There was a what I would call a really creepy kinda man in room 201 right next to us who was always watching us come and go from his open window which was open. At first I thought he was smoking so the smoke wasn’t in the room but it made you feel insecure. Always glad to get in the room and lock the door. Still would stay there again if we come back hoping he was gone or not near another room we had. Should have told the desk man but didn’t. Would for sure next time if it happened again. Comfortable
Didnt have breakfast so can’t comment on that. It was easy to find and would stay there again. Close to the casino and bingo.

United Statesroom 107 - missing outlet cover next to bed , bed had a tinnie sound when getting off/on bed. also room our friends stayed in # 108 (I believe) had large hole in side of tub. Our friend mentioned to desk clerk about damage so he wouldn't be charged. Clerk said they were trying to get hold of plumber to replace tub. Building is at least 40 years old, in need of furnishing updates and tubs, vanity outside bathroom was about pocket high. Pool has sign -permanently closed.

United StatesRoaches, killed a baby one in the bathroom and an adult one in the nightstand, 2 different breeds. Guess I should be happy it wasn't bedbugs. The cleaner or room spray they use is overpowering, had to open the window and even that didn't fix it. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling looked like water damage and we were on the first floor. I probably will not return to this property.
Location is good, it is convenient to a grocery store, pizza hut, and other things. It is less expensive than the casino

United StatesThere were 3 of us staying in the room. We asked for a couple of extra towels and were told they didn't have any. The room smelled like old urine. The walls in the bathroom were crusty from water damage and the shower curtain was torn. No coffee pot in the room. Breakfast was not very good - only carb options and one fruit choice. The refridgerator in the room had a very high pitch and we had to unplug it to sleep. Looking at a closed pool in dissaray and another room full of junk is not pleasant. The bathroom off the lobby was not stocked with paper to dry your hands and soap was out.
There are not many choices of places to stay in Toledo, IA and we chose Designer Inn and Suites because of the comparable room rates.

Contacted booking.com and was told Designer Inn was reimbursed. Left numerous messages with staff about the incident. Staff claimed to inform owner (Sonny). No response. Not very professional of owner.

Quite, friendly staff. Although in a rural area there were a few decent restaurants within walking distance. And the themed rooms are exceptional. I'm not even sure when house keeping cleaned. It was as if I walked out of the room, to a gas station, restaurant etc. Came back and it was clean. Never once seen housekeeping but that place has magical elfs or something because it stayed clean.
