We had room 203. There was a what I would call a really creepy kinda man in room 201 right next to us who was always watching us come and go from his open window which was open. At first I thought he was smoking so the smoke wasn’t in the room but it made you feel insecure. Always glad to get in the room and lock the door. Still would stay there again if we come back hoping he was gone or not near another room we had. Should have told the desk man but didn’t. Would for sure next time if it happened again. Comfortable

Didnt have breakfast so can’t comment on that. It was easy to find and would stay there again. Close to the casino and bingo.

room 107 - missing outlet cover next to bed , bed had a tinnie sound when getting off/on bed. also room our friends stayed in # 108 (I believe) had large hole in side of tub. Our friend mentioned to desk clerk about damage so he wouldn't be charged. Clerk said they were trying to get hold of plumber to replace tub. Building is at least 40 years old, in need of furnishing updates and tubs, vanity outside bathroom was about pocket high. Pool has sign -permanently closed.

Roaches, killed a baby one in the bathroom and an adult one in the nightstand, 2 different breeds. Guess I should be happy it wasn't bedbugs. The cleaner or room spray they use is overpowering, had to open the window and even that didn't fix it. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling looked like water damage and we were on the first floor. I probably will not return to this property.

Location is good, it is convenient to a grocery store, pizza hut, and other things. It is less expensive than the casino

The employee tried to put us in a different room than we had paid for on line. We paid for a king and he tried to put us in a double queen. Also, the bathtub had a LARGE break in it. Also the pool is no longer available

Be extra careful when checking in. we had already paid through booking.com and then the hotel charged us a second time at check in. when I read other rebuilds see that I wasn’t the only one that they have done this to.

no hot breakfast although a hot breakfast is listed as a feature. limited selection. bad coffee. the bed is the most uncomfortable bed i have ever slept or tried to sleep in. toilet would not flush properly. had to repeatedly plung it for the entire stay.

There were 3 of us staying in the room. We asked for a couple of extra towels and were told they didn't have any. The room smelled like old urine. The walls in the bathroom were crusty from water damage and the shower curtain was torn. No coffee pot in the room. Breakfast was not very good - only carb options and one fruit choice. The refridgerator in the room had a very high pitch and we had to unplug it to sleep. Looking at a closed pool in dissaray and another room full of junk is not pleasant. The bathroom off the lobby was not stocked with paper to dry your hands and soap was out.

There are not many choices of places to stay in Toledo, IA and we chose Designer Inn and Suites because of the comparable room rates.

Was double charged for room. Pre paid Booking.com then upon arrival person at desk claimed Designer Inn wasn't reimburse so I had to pay for the stay. Contacted booking.com and was told Designer Inn was reimbursed. Left numerous messages with staff about the incident. Staff claimed to inform owner (Sonny). No response. Not very professional of owner.

The peep hole on door was missing, could see my bed from hallway. The room smelled awful. Fridge and microwave way outdated. The pool was out of order/ drained. The pool table was broken, ice machine was broken. Surprised we didn't get bedbugs.

Quite, friendly staff. Although in a rural area there were a few decent restaurants within walking distance. And the themed rooms are exceptional. I'm not even sure when house keeping cleaned. It was as if I walked out of the room, to a gas station, restaurant etc. Came back and it was clean. Never once seen housekeeping but that place has magical elfs or something because it stayed clean.

Floors were dirty. Place needs to be updated. Small sink in bathroom. Door to the room looked like someone tried to kick it in. Room looked shabby. Did not feel real safe.

Not the cleanest, room’s air conditioner had a weird nasty smell, door to the room looked like someone tried to beat it down, walls had holes patched that weren’t done very well. Needs lots of work.
