Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Area is a little seedy being close to Times Square (which is a plus and a minus).
Very convenient for Penn Station and a base for touring NYC. Friendly front desk staff and doorman.

In hotel breakfast was overpriced and bland, and the staff in the restaurant was not engaged. However, the front desk was absolutely wonderful! If the staff in the restaurant were half as personable as them, I would have left with a better impression.
Easily accessible room. Relatively quiet considering the location. Easy in and out depending on the time of day. We arrived about noon and waited about 15 minutes to check in. Door personnel were friendly.

lots of noise from the road however this is New York it’s a noisy city you have to expect it
central location, near to the subway to very accessible to explore the area. near to shops, 7-11 and lots of restaurants very comfortable bed and super helpful staff

the front plaza area attracted a few homeless, the security team managed this as best as they could, which was sad for all involved, but if I’d stayed on my own I would have felt intimidated.
it was a convenient location, the staff were good and the room was perfect for a short stay.

Great location on 8th avenue but still calm for a good sleep at night. Great stuff all were very friendly and helpful. Great beds and modern apartment. Size was not very big but still big enough for 2 people. Would come back 100%.

The room smelt a bit strange when we first arrived and there wasn’t enough soundproofing from the street so it could get very noisy at times. The room was also quite small for two people plus luggage.
It was in a very convenient location near Times Square and Penn Station, with a subway stop close by. The room had a good variety of toiletries

You pay to be in a good hotel in Manhattan by MSG, there is nothing to not like!!
Location is perfect, you can walk to everywhere from here. Rooftop bar was good, breakfast was adequate but the staff were really helpful and friendly. On the 14th, Empire state view was pretty cool. Great recommendation from a staff member to see the Highline, Chelsea Market and Little Island all easy walking distance.

The room was absolutely tiny - We could barely fit in the suitcases. The bathroom door was on a slider but only attached at the top so banged on the bottom when being closed or opened. Not much privacy in the bathroom as the bed is only a foot away. We booked a room with the Empire State View but I wouldn't do this again as there is not much to see. Also, to get into our room we had to go through a door that gave access to another room. All night you could hear these people in and out as the door was banging. Room was not ready on arrival which was ok as we were an hour early. We were told came back, we waitied for 3 hours to go back to give them a chance as there was a que of people there waiting when we arrived. We went back after 6pm and the room was still not ready and had to leave again. This wasn't ideal as we had been travelling all day and wanted to refresh before seeing the city.
Fantastic location right beside Penn Station - Ideal for getting in and out of the city. Extremely close to many tourist attractions and food places. It is an ideal location when visiting the city. The location was the best part of the hotel.
