Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The rooms are very small, but I guess that is somewhat normal for Manhattan. The restaurant and rooftop bar are over-priced.
Great location that was very close to a subway station. Times Square and the Madison Square Garden were only a 10-minute walk. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The room was small, but that was to be expected, and there was a clanking noise - almost like a pipe from the bathroom, but just wore ear plugs.
Location was fantastic. Close to Time Square, Penn Station and MSG. Liked that the hotel was tucked in a little from the main street. Staff were very helpful and the kids loved the cookies.

As I said the room was a bit small, but could have done with some wall hanging hooks to hang our coats.
The location was perfect, just a few block up from Penn station which has great access to a no: of Subway trains lines and the long island Rail trains to JFK. 10 mins walk to Time square. All the staff we came across were very friendly. Reasonable breakfast choice (but was not inc. in the room rate) so ate there a few mornings. We were on the 10th floor, ok the room was somewhat a bit small but manageable for a couple staying for 6 nights who was out and about most of the time. The bathroom was modern and very cleaned. We were approached nearly every day if we wanted our room cleaned. The Rooftop bar (30th floor I think) had great views across certain parts of the city and reasonable priced drinks. We had no issues with the unfortunately homeless people in the neighborhood.

The room was quite small for the two of us with our luggage.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, they arranged our taxi to the airport. The hotel is in a good location - short walk to Time Square, approximately 20 minutes. The bathroom was modern with a great walk in shower. Large comfortable bed.

On one occasion I came back to our bedroom door open - this was left open by a cleaner. Nothing was taken and the matter was dealt with by staff but as i was on my own when this happened i got an awful fright. We booked a car to the airport for 12:45, we arrived for our booking but the car didn't - it turned out the staff had not booked the car for us
The location was good, easy distance walking into Times Square, the street itself is very busy and there are a lot of homeless, just be mindful of this - not an issue for the hotel. Staff were very friendly and approachable.

The room was tight & as a result, I was happy that I was a solo traveler. It would have been tough spending a few nights in it with someone else.
Staff were helpful. Location was so handy as it was only a couple of blocks north of Penn Station which was so handy coming from the airport with my cases. Bed was super comfy.

Breakfast was nice but for the price of the buffet there isn’t much on offer.
