Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyI had the worst customer service experience. The guy at reception treated us very badly and hateful. He wanted to charge me twice, and I insisted that I had already paid by booking.com and the guy told me that no payment arrived and he should charge me the whole amount. Then he made us come back two hours later because there were no rooms available and he just gave us the key without explaining anything about the hotel services. The internet did not work and the next day the key was locked, so we couldn't enter the room. It turned out that the guy did not proccess the check-in correctly and it appeared in the system that we never arrived. I am very disapointed with the service and I do not definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Breakfast was good and sufficient

CanadaIt would have been nice if there were some plant-based or vegan breakfast options like something without eggs or coconut yogurt etc. I also would have liked if the policy made people wear masks while inside the elevators.
This was our third time staying at the Element Time Square and it did not disappoint! We love the location. The room was incredible. We requested a higher floor so that the city noise would be less noticable and we got an amazing room with a fabulous view. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is super close to some of our favourate restaurants. We especially like that we have a kitchen in the room and can buy snacks and also make quick meals. Even during Covid, we felt safe. Close by restaurant Nitti was amazing....some of the BEST Italian food! The Joyce Irish Pub next door was also really good......The Parmesan Truffle fries were yummy!

Canadathe only thing i will say, and its only because you’re asking.. the hot water wasn’t super hot but still hot enough for a shower and with 40 floors of people showering at the same time its bound to happen
the hotel was very clean, rooms were super comfortable and had a small kitchen, not that we used it much but appreciated the fridge the breakfast was excellent- not your typical breakfast that i have had at hotels in the last nice cold lemon water in the lobby central to the subway to get anywhere/JFK airport easy walk to get bearings for Manhattan

United StatesThe rooms were full of little annoyances such as: * bathroom/shower water that was either hot or cold depending on the time of day and could not be adjusted * automatic motion-sensor lights that clicked on whether you wanted them to or not--and could not be disabled * elevators that frequently weren't working * a phone that didn't work * shower basin that was plumbed so that half of it didn't drain In sum: a lot of LACK of attention to details that make a hotel stand out.
The staff were great--friendly, cheerful, and helpful. The location also was outstanding, not only walkable to many key locations, but close to the subway and many good eateries. Also, beds were comfortable and it was nice having a kitchenette with fridge and microwave.

United StatesBACTERIA GROWING IN THE SOAP DISPENSERS!! Completely disgusting. Had to change rooms immediately after checking in because there were staples/trash all over the room. Really run down tables with water rings all over. Bathroom looked like a gym locker room. Our second room was better but was still cramped.
Central location right in Times Square, but can be a sketchy area after dark.

ArgentinaI had read reviews mentioning hot water and elevator problems. As I used to work in hospitality I thought they might have been temporary, that it could happen to any hotel. I could have never imagined they were structural problems. The hot water without cold water is REAL, and not nice at all if you like warm water for a shower and cold water to wash your face in the morning. Is not something they will fix anytime soon. We complained about it 2 consecutive days until the 3rd day when we requested a change of rooms as it was unbearable. (that’s when we got the great view) The elevators same thing, structural problem. Nor will it be fixed any time soon. They have three and the standard wait is 10minutes. I’m not even talking about rush hour, during breakfast time you could be waiting 20 minutes. and that’s when all three are working. But, they usually have 2 working and we also had two days with only 1 working, so you can imagine. Last but not least. Too much drugs in the hotel’s block, nothing dangerous, it’s still safe, but not nice to watch. I had stayed in NYC many times, in different hotels and categories, this was by far the worst stay ever. Won’t be coming back to this hotel or area.
This is one extended night from a stay of 9 nights in total. so here is my review of the 9 nights. We got a room with a view during our stay. they had to change us due to water problems so we got to see two different views. One with buildings only and the Empire State to the side. And one open view with the edge and One World that was worthy. Of course we only got that for the las two days. I need to mention the staff, which was very friendly and always well predisposed. enduring with guests complains that they could hardly fix or accommodate. Kudos to them!
