Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SloveniaIt is right next to Tenderloin, and even if you steer clear of that part of town, there are still a lot of homeless people and drug addicts in the downtown area including around the hotel. For an adult male the walk home from the bar or party to the hotel can be inconvenient because of this, but I wouldn't suggest walking in the evening to any females or younger people who perhaps can't fend for themselves. During the daytime it is ok-ish, but at night it is not the experience you want. Wouldn't suggest it for a family trip unless you plan on getting a ride from the hotel to wherever you are going. The room had a view to the ventilation pipes which wasn't a big problem, however there was a persistent smell (from a restaurant?) in the room, for which I needed to turn on the AC and ventilator. This worked short term, but it's not an ideal solution. The sound isolation between rooms is poor, which was bothersome only when the next door guests were loud in the late hours, otherwise it's bearable.
Location is GREAT / BAD. Great cause it's downtown and within walking distance to Moscone, fishermans warf, chinatown, Union square etc. with lots of bus connections. The rooms were spacious and had the required amenities. The staff was amazing, pleasant and helpful. I believe it's ok value for money. If you plan to sleep there and wander around for most of the day it's ok.

FinlandSound isolation is weak, I could hear a neighbor talking on the phone. Creaky noises are heard in the room when someone walks the stairs.
Great location. Good value for the money, I did not feel that anything was missing. There was no breakfast, but Magnin Bistro is just around the corner.

United StatesThere is only one small window and it opens to a tiny courtyard with some hotel equipment. The amount of daylight is scarce, it feels like there are no windows in this room on the 2nd floor.
Very convenient location in the city center, clean room, very careful and friendly staff. Spacious bathroom with bath tub.

ItalyThe room is very basic. The room was dark with a window facing other buildings (the back of the buildings AC and dark areas). The bathroom was in a very old style, but clean.
The hotel's location is perfect! In the heart of downtown, it offers all the possibilities for restaurants, shops, and tours and is super close to public transportation.

United KingdomNo parking and some noisy rooms.
Brilliant location to visit San Francisco. We used parking one block over $44 for 24 hours. Our original room was very noisy with air conditioning ducts outside our window. However hotel quickly moved us when we complained about the noise. Attached restaurant was very good, brilliant breakfast reasonably priced. John's Grill across the road must be visited too.
