Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesHost was less responsive than I expected. I had to buy more toilet paper and body soap to supply for me and the other roommates. The bathroom has carpet and didn’t seem vacuumed when I checked in. Hopefully it’ll be cleaner and better stocked for the next person.
Nice to have a kitchen, super easy to come in and out through the back door, good amount of space to put my things away and hang things up. Great location with walkable access to restaurants and a market!

CanadaThe only thing was the second bed I slept on wasn’t great the mattress was on the last legs and the frame was not holding well.
The location of the room was interesting and the host did leave instructions to entry and also she greeted us after I texted her makes her super responsive. Her recommendation for breakfast was spot on. Overall it wasn’t bad.

FranceThe garbage smell in front of the house. The housing needs to be completely cleaned. We needed to wash all of kitchen stuff before cooking. Everything was sticky and dirty. There is a musty smell in the inside.
Nice view under trees. The host very friendly.

United StatesThe noise. Roosters woke us up every morning between 3:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. and didn't stop. The road noise and car/truck lights kept us awake so we had to shut the windows to try to diminish it. Unfortunately, the unit didn't have air conditioning so it was stifling hot. After 4 nights out of the 8 we had reserved, we had to find another place to stay. We would not recommend staying here.
The hostess, Ivana, was exceptional. She was friendly, quick to respond to our requests, and bent over backwards to help where she could. We have absolutely no complaints about our hostess.

GermanyDuring the day the house is heating up in sun - we used the existing fan to blow colder air from the outside into the room. That helped a lot.
The house is located in a county area directly nature in the back. It feels like in a jungle during the night - we enjoyed this amazing nature experience.

SpainThis is the worst place I have ever been to. I have been travelling for over 25 years. The quality-price ratio makes us feel ripped off. I suppose they must have two places and the other is better, that is why they have a better rating? I don't know. Our "room" was a shack, a structure created with several different wooden boards, poorly superimposed, with gaps between them. The floor is totally crooked, the structure of the house falls to one side. The worst of all is that the windows that face the jungle, did not have glass! They had tried to cover them with curtains, but behind them there was a piece of transparent plastic, which they tried to stick with tape and it was fallen. To add to this there are thousands of noisy frogs, which without a window, sound as if they were inside the room. We have not been able to sleep a minute all night. At 3 am we left. To continue, the ceiling has holes, both in the room and in the bathroom. The price is outrageous, it's more than 200 dollars a night, you expect to find at least a habitable place, not a shack that has fallen to one side and no glass in the window openings. It's amazing that they still allow this to be rented on booking.
The lady who greeted us when we arrived was very kind.

United StatesIt was a bit far from our wedding venue which was on the West Coast but overall the extra drive was worth it.
"Staying at Ivana's apartment in Maui was an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, Ivana and her family welcomed us with open arms and treated us like their own. The apartment had a stunning jungle feel, surrounded by lush tropical trees that made every moment magical. Ivana's hospitality was unmatched - she was attentive, sweet, and truly has a heart of gold. One of the highlights of our stay was the unforgettable BBQ that Ivana and her family hosted for us. The beef and pork she cooked were absolutely delicious, and the company was even better. We felt like part of the family! We can't wait to come back again and experience more of the warmth and beauty that Ivana and her apartment have to offer. Thank you for an incredible stay - it was truly an awesome experience that I will cherish forever!"

United StatesI don't even know where to begin. We chose this place because it was rated 8.3 on Booking (but I think it's purposefully deceptive as they have another location that is possibly better but they mix the two locations- this location is an absolute dump) and because it was on the Hana and Haleakala side of the island and we felt it would be more convenient to explore those places from close by. The plan was to stay in that area for three nights and then spend three nights in Kihei. (The other place Kihei was $75 more in total not per night and what a difference in quality!) My daughter said it was like glamping but to be honest, glamping would be more pleasant than staying here. The first thing we noticed was a gigantic spiderweb in the bathroom. There is no sink in the bathroom. We had to brush our teeth and wash our hands in the "kitchen" sink outside the bathroom. The shower head leaks and we were instructed to leave it hanging down so it will leak less (maybe they should fix it- but their problems go way beyond that anyway.)The bathroom wall doesn't reach the ceiling so there is no privacy when going to the bathroom. The bathroom isn't a closed separate room, there's an opening at the top. The beds and pillows couldn't be more uncomfortable than they were. Everything and I mean everything in the room was run down, dilapidated of poor quality, and in disrepair. A hotel for the homeless (at $200 a night!) No air conditioning. We were told that we may not wear shoes in the room. We were wondering if that was so they could avoid cleaning the floor. Every night at 4 am we were woken up by roosters that just kept crowing for hours afterwards. Three nights for $575! Now to compare- our other place was a real one-bedroom with a proper kitchen and bathroom. Ocean view with a balcony, pool, small beach, washer, dryer, dishwasher, air conditioning...very clean beautiful place for $650. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

NetherlandsSome people might not like the noise of the wild chickens who wake up early, we didn't mind it but we wore earplugs so that's a recommendation for others too.
Ivana was an amazing host! Her and her family were probably the best part of choosing this accommodation, they were incredibly kind and great energy. Ivana gave us a comprehensive list of recommendations from a locals perspective which was very useful. Her daughter spent time after her busy work day cracking open a coconut for us which shows the level of care and effort they put in to their guests. We would highly recommend staying here just for the chance to meet Ivana and her family, we know we would 100% stay here again if back on Maui! About the room; we had booked the business room with shared enmities but got upgraded to the private suite due to booking.com double booking that room. The private studio was spacious, it had everything we needed, we could have cooked several meals there but chose to eat out, and the bed was super comfortable.

United StatesI would say that you do hear chickens and traffic during day but does down over night. I personally don’t mind the chickens but the traffic off main road could bother some people. I love nature and it is definitely all nature that surrounds you.
Very friendly. Love of animals. Very helpful and accommodating but have plenty of privacy. Walking distance to grocery, food trucks, coffee shop and restaurants that are all excellent and reasonably priced. Away from touristy areas.
