Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The properties was clean and had a very historical feel to it and at some spots felt luxurious.

United KingdomSadly yet another hotel in the US that has zero regard for the environment. Plastic cups wrapped in plastic in the bathroom - there’s such a thing as a glass you know? Paper cups. Just shocking but sadly expected in the US. I member of staff was playing on their phone when I was in the lobby early with jetlag. I expressed it was irritating and he asked if I’d like him to stop. Yes. I’m not going to he replies. Simply beyond comprehension that staff would behave like this.
Convenient location, room was good. First night I couldn’t sleep with jetlag. Stephanie (I think) and the security guy were absolutely brilliant, finding me coffee as there wasn’t any available in the lobby. Overall really great staff with one shocking exception.

We absolutely loved the location!! Close enough to just about everything or more so in the middle of all the big sights. And the STAFF???? simply amazing. They were so eager to help, serve and accommodating you was their priority. We were in the area to celebrate a milestone anniversary of 25 years and they made it extra special with a room upgrade, a bottle of champagne and a one on one with Mr. Handlery him self.

United StatesSecurity was called due to guest next door screaming & pounding walls at midnight. Security knocked on my door, to ask what was wrong after I called front desk. Why would they do that? If the crazy person knew I called, Geeze - they may retaliate. The Police ended up coming for the druggie guest that was pounding. We lost 3 hrs sleep thru it all. The Management could care less....

United KingdomThe room we were given was surprisingly below our expectations: we were placed next to both the elevators and the service elevator which meant 24h noise and the room had just one window that faced an actual pavement on a roof. Soundproofing was poor as well as we could hear every single noise from the room next door. Unfortunately I would not go back.
The location and the aesthetic of the hotel was spot on. The pool area looked very pretty. The staff was very polite and the room was very clean.

United KingdomProbably the only complaint would be the strong smell of smoke in the corridors?
Our reception was amazing. We were greeted so warmly, and were told that the owner wanted to greet us personally too, which he did. Our room was upgraded to an incredible suite which was huge and we arrived to find a bottle of champagne and lots of snacks! We were in California celebrating our 40th birthdays, hence the incredibly warm reception. The bed was huge and so comfortable.

The location was perfect for us, first time in San Francisco, it was a flying visit so we were right in the middle of all bars/restaurants. The hotel was really clean, check in & out was really quick & easy. The staff were lovely!

Location. Our two ‘go-to destinations ’ in San Francisco have always been Fisherman’s Wharf or Union Square; this time we chose Union Square as our base location. It’s central to what makes SF the modern city that it is, and with the traditional/historical trolley car line a half block away to transport you to other SF sites & eateries that keep you coming back. Without the comfort of a place to re-energize oneself with working basic amenities, utilities and cleanliness, your vacation can be ruined mentally & emotionally. That was NOT the case here. In addition to the above, the staff was both responsive & friendly to the requests & inquiries we have wherever we travel. It is both traditional and modern in design & decor.
