Would have enjoyed a TV but we were actually fine without it. A blow dryer would have been good. I actually brought my own but thinking of others.

Didn't have breakfast. Location was great! Loved the private beach. Very peaceful and relaxing. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

We enjoyed the older ambience as I told my husband it brought me back to travel in younger days and good memories of life in uncomplicated times and natural beauty,, simple joys of nature surround Tides Inn. No fluff.

Loved the view and surprised how close to the water. Mark served an amazing breakfast w fresh boiled eggs and yummy blueberry buscuits and popovers we relished! Trish gave us great tips on what to see and mapped an itinerary better than a tourist center. We enjoyed fireplace in common room and watching football w Mark and just reading one evening.

I think that the foods were limited in selection. Hard boiled eggs are not expected for a morning meal. The fresh bakery was actually two items. With the size of the dining room, they should have a real cook who can better serve a regular breakfast fare.

    The staff was very accommodating.

Innkeepers are new, doing their best to provide exceptional customer service. Some of the furniture is dated and landscaping needs attention.

If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable, down-to-earth place to stay on the coast, this is a good choice. Conveniently located just north of Camden, with a little more than an hour's drive to Acadia. This property includes a charming estate house/inn overlooking a lovely view of coastal islands; there are also modest cabins and more modern motel-style lodgings. Innkeepers are very friendly; breakfast is served on the enclosed veranda overlooking an outstanding view; blueberry muffins are delicious! A comfortable indoor sitting room and outdoor seating around both a traditional and a gas-fired campfire overlook a wide lawn/meadow sloping down to the water. Yard games are available. Sunrises are beautiful!!

It is a work in progress. They are improving as they go. I don’t see this as a detractor.

What a beautiful setting for a stay on the mid coast of Maine! We stayed here 24 years ago when it was under different management. It was quaint and rustic at that time. Now the new management has added nice upgrades like quality mattresses and bedding. You can’t beat the amazing viewingf the ocean and islands while lying in bed. We enjoyed a glass of wine sitting by the fire pit which also had a gorgeous view. It’s just minutes from the charming village of Camden. We will definitely put this on our preferred places to stay list! Oh, and we brought the pupster, so extra points for being pet friendly!

The Inn could offer more by means of a breakfast option and bar options. If you are going to have the option of breakfast, make it a full option or continental breakfast and charge accordingly. There should be working snack and drink vending machines for guests, too. If you are going to advertise as having a bar, make it a full service bar open.noon to ten pm, for example. However, this all depends on having staff, which is scarce. The place was well worth the drive and money spent.

Mark was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was quiet and serene. It was very relaxing and bucolic.

There was some weird smell in the room , not sure because its a old motel or whether it was a chemical smell from some of the remodeling? None of the rooms had a small refrigerator. The WiFi went out around the same hour every night, so we couldn’t relax and watch some TV. I guess we would stay again at this location if we had too, but the price for a room with bad WiFi is a bit expensive

The room was about as plane as a place could be , just bare essentials , no fridge , barely decorated , nothing quaint about it , nothing to feel like your in Maine in the room , but they are new owners and have done a lot so far , they never even had a/c in the rooms when they bought it , so to be fair let give them a year to see what they can do

The breakfast puffin and blueberry muffins
