Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No complaints.
Lovely hotel - it was a last minute haven for us in the winter storm and it served us well. Comfortable room with everything we needed, space to park the RV, walkable/close to public transport for us to get to local amenities and activities. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the snow.

No daily room cleaning. The room heater was very noisy. Person in the next door room was smoking in a non-smoking hotel.

The bed runner had some big stains, but the bed linens themselves were clean, so it wasn’t a big issue.
The beds were very comfortable. The double queen room was nice and spacious. I also liked how the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of a fantastic fish and chips restaurant, MacDuff's. The hotel also offers great amenities, including a heated jacuzzi and pool, a gaming area with foosball and air hockey, and a small gym.

Would've been nice if they had a little store or market for quick little items.
The location is absolutely great, close but far enough from the tourist and shopping areas. Beautiful area to walk along the lake and has amazing views. The Elements restaurant basically on the property is great food and service. Hot tub was also very nice as well.

The safety locks on the latch doors were easily opened by my 2.5 yr old. No extra security lock at the top of the doors. This was a HUGE concern. Another issue was the rowdy group partying all night on a Tuesday until 2am. I finally had to call the front desk who accused me of lying. They told me they had just walked by the spa and saw no one. Then after my call he went back out to the spa and caught the group of partiers. I’m in my 30’s and get wanting to listen to music while on vacation but I’m always mindful when outside in public. One last thing, the sofas in the suite were extremely old and uncomfortable. We got the living room suite style so that we could relax after a day of exploring but the sofas were so uncomfortable it to mention the odd placement of the TV.
I liked the location and suite amenities.

The size of the room was good. Especially for a family of four. Even with the sofa bed pulled out there was a good amount of space in the living area. The view of the lake and the ease of access to the village was a bonus!

There want anything that I didn't like about the Hoel. Weather wasn't great so that didn't help.
Rooms were a good size and clean. Local shops and near to the main parts people want to visit.

I know it is pet friendly hotel, but as a guest without pets, I thought if they can arrange the room for the guests by having pets or not, that must be better. When we asked to change the room b/c the dogs kept barking at the next room, they changed the room, so it is okay. But we had to move all the luggage again.
Simple and clean. The spacious jacuzzi is enjoyable.

The hotel falls short of expectations, with outdated facilities and a location separated from Tahoe Lake by a broad road. Additionally, breakfast is not provided, requiring guests to plan ahead for nearby restaurant options.
The staff is extremely friendly and always ready to assist.

The Hotel is pet friendly for extra cost, but when we arrived to the complex to check in they give us a form to sign that we are not going to left the pet inside the room alone… We lost 4 reservations for dinner and ski because of that matter. They need to be clear in their politics and restrictions at the beginning when you make a reservation with a pet. (The same day that we reserved the room I message them to be sure didn’t have problem with the pets, and didn’t mentioned that).
