Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe did not have hot water the first night. They said it would be working after midnight and I needed to go to bed to prepare for the next day, but we had hot water in the morning. They accommodated us with a complimentary breakfast. Overall, we had a great stay.
Very quiet. It is a cute cottage-style room with beautiful scenery (deer, the river, courtyard, landscaping). We walked the property every evening. The Wharf restaurant is within walking distance. The food was good, especially the fried green tomatoes!

United StatesLimited fine dining.
While weather intruded with lots of rain, we loved the amazing beauty of the location and the gilded age ambiance of the resort. Our room was nicely appointed although the pillows were small and not great. We enjoyed the beautiful old bar with its limited seating and the stunning wood work there and in surrounding sitting areas all very cozy. We wished the main dining room also served meals rather than only breakfast, it would have been wonder to dress up for a dinner there. We will return and stay longer when the weather is more accommodating.

United StatesHousekeeping not following through on the requests you make and then when you ask why things didnt get done, they basically call you a liar. They cleaned our room then left our trash and towels outside our door all day and night one day.

United StatesThe brunch at the dining hall was mediocre at best….. more like a buffet offered at a chain hotel. Would love to see the dinners come back. Have wonderful memories of the four course dinners.
Love staying at the Sans Souci, with porch and rocking chairs. The most peaceful location in the world….. so stress free.

United StatesThe shower door couldn’t be closed so water was everywhere, we had to use all of our towels to cover the water leak. The maintenance guy came but couldn’t fix, we had to hold the door while showering. It was a disappointment for the amount we had to pay for the room.
The location is great, the property is very nice, although , we didn’t get a chance to go around.

United StatesWomen at the front desk seem bothered to check us in. Not first impression I like to get when coming to nice place like that. The rest of the hotel workers I came across the hotel in different occasions, were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful place. love the music and the room. Feel like I went back in time to the 50’s in a classic way

United StatesThe service at breakfast was very slow. We did reservation for 9am and we were served at 10 am. Also, we would love to have a drink at the bar but seems like they didn't open until 4 pm and closed very early. We were a bit disappointed.

United StatesDefinitely did not like the non-stop Christmas music playing in the hotel. Also the fire alarm went off starting at 6:30 am several times one of our mornings there and there was no information given. A conversation with the manager at breakfast about this was very unsatisfactory. He said it’s an old building and up to guests to decide whether to evacuate. What?!?!?! According to one of the housekeeping staff, false alarms are not uncommon.
Beautiful building and grounds evoking a bygone era. Delicious breakfasts and gorgeous dining room. And the holiday lights are spectacular!!

United StatesThe new pool cabanas take up a lot of room so it feels like there’s less pool seating than previously. The shop is poorly stocked and the pantry not as good as past years. Very, very basic rooms for the price.
We’ve always enjoys our stays at this resort. However there are some changes with the new ownership that we’re not wild about.

SwitzerlandWe were not satisfied with the dining options. The grand dining room is closed for lunch and dinner. The Wharf does not accept reservations (only for six people or more). On a Thursday evening, we (two elderly people) had to wait one hour to obtain a table. Inside it was very noisy. Many guests from other hotels are dining here as well, so it was very crowded all the time. There is a bakery on site but they only serve small bites and fast food. The staff could be friendlier.
Location: fantastic, in the historic district with many old trees. Room: we were in the Crane cottage and had a balcony and very big room.

United StatesThe cafe didn't have much on offer that looked fresh and the staff were not very invested in working there. The sister restaurant near the beach was okay.
Liked the ability to rent bicycles to tour the island. Valet and front desk and pool representatives were all very friendly and helpful. The pool at the Inn was a very good size. The room was quiet.
