Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesGorgeous home and surrounding landscape- perfect for star gazing as it is out of town, but close enough to go in for a bite to eat. Our host, Pamela, was lovely and left some treats and a nice note to welcome us. Really recommend!

United StatesThis stay was perfect!! The location is very quiet and the amenities are amazing! There is a hammock, fire pit, bench swing and outdoor shower which will be great when the summer! The stargazing was beautiful and the sound of the coyotes was maybe one of my favorite parts! We watched the sunrise from our bed through a large window but there are amazing spots to sit outside, it was just cold without a fire. Definitly will be going back!

United StatesI wish there was a built-in stove along with a sink. The cowboy tub took a while to drain & it was not clean upon our arrival.
Overall, the property was quiet, clean, comfortable. Everything was easy access, the decors was exactly to my liking , along with the indoor screening hammock mudroom what’s the perfect touch. The backyard space was beautiful. Felt like I was at Glenn Ivory minus the heat. LOL

United KingdomIt took us a very long time to find the place because each host gave us slightly different directions. I’d say only one message with directions/ address was necessary. I’d also say for people like us who have never been to a dessert it would be great to have advice on what time of day is suitable for what activity ie. Stargazing from 9pm in the summer, we would not advise hiking from May-September or whichever month after 8am because of heat etc. we were uncertain what to do in the area during the day because of the heat.
Loved the peace and quiet and surrounding outdoor area. The outdoor shower and sitting garden with all the wildlife was really wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could explore longer.

United KingdomNothing - everything was great.
What an amazing property to stay at by Joshua Tree!! We were looking for something quieter after our west coast trip enroute to Vegas and this was perfect. The host was so communicative about how to access the property and about all the things to do in the area - we went to the national park and hiked, the local supermarket in Yucca Valley to get BBQ stuff for the evening. The property was easily accessible, clean, spacious & well furnished - we loved how they had done it out!

United StatesI can't think of a thing. Was easy, directions were clear...the only thing I can think of was after all the information I wish I stayed some extra days!
The atmosphere was amazing and made better by the outside area with an array of hummingbirds, baby bunnies, and lizards galore. I will be honest when they said the stars were great there, I didn't believe it, but I was able to get some better star pictures at the house than in Joshua Tree. I also loved the well thought out instructions and the binder spoke to me. Several items were re-prioritized after looking through all the options!

United StatesThe road into the property was a little confusing. We had to call to revise our directions. I think part of the problem was that we weren't used to the area.
The location was interesting, and the sunsets were amazing. The view out the window was awesome.

United KingdomIt was slightly peculiar using the bathroom sink to wash up in but we got used to it. Also the paper plates were slightly strange (although I guess to help cut down on washing up required), but it would have been nice to have had proper crockery, even if it was plastic. There was no freezer either, which would have been nice to store some ice in.
The location was amazing - right on the edge of the desert with fantastic views and sunsets! We woke up on the first morning with two coyotes trotting past which was incredible. Lots of birds too, which we are especially interested in. There was even a resident dove's nest on the air conditioning unit with two chicks! The place was very comfortable and clean.

United StatesBumpy dirt road was a bit of a challenge, though being off the main road made for a private relaxing stay.
A most charming spacious apartment and desert garden. Quiet and cozy. Loved the turntable and vinyl selection and abundance of humming birds. And the moon and stars at night. Close to town and the park entrance. The host was gracious and generous with recommendations.

United StatesThe lighting was a bit dim, but it was adequate. And the dirt roads leading up to the house were pretty bumpy. Everything else was fine. There was even a good quality guitar that we played for a while.
The property is the last house on a quiet dead end road. It backed up to open space, with desert and mountain views. The yard had lots of places to sit or lounge and admire the desert gardens and views. The studio was spacious and comfortable.

United StatesThe unit has a memory foam mattress in the bedroom and a fold-out couch in the living room. the memory foam mattress is really firm. and that's typical. but it didn't work for me. My friend slept on the couch and it was OK, just took some getting used to. NOTE: the roads in to the neighborhood are not paved or graded. Makes for a slow trip in and out even if you have an all wheel drive vehicle. I had to take it pretty slowly driving a 2023 Crosstrek. But I'm not accustomed to roads like that. The locals were buzzing in and out, no problem.
Location was a short drive to the National Park, about ten minutes. Beautiful, quiet location. We stayed in the 1BDR unit. Roomy. Well outfitted kitchen. Enjoyed the firepit at night when stargazing.
