Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great hotel in a great location. Room is of a decent size, with a comfy bed and cleaned every day. Staff are very friendly. Won't hesitate staying here again if I'm back in New York.

No complaints. Keep up the good work.
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. On a rainy day, we were offered umbrellas. Before arriving due to a mixup in the room we had to stay in a room we hadn’t booked and change rooms on the second day however, the staff called ahead of time and made arrangements and made everything seamless. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and we love the little robot that brings stuff to your room. Overall, it was just an excellent visit.

From the moment I arrived, the reception staff showed incredible kindness and attention to detail. Upon my request for a kettle, it was already waiting in my room when I arrived. Such thoughtful service is truly appreciated. I could enjoyed a late check-out too. The size of the room and the bathroom was remarkable, especially considering New York's standards. It provided a comfortable and spacious stay, which made my visit even more enjoyable. Additionally, the breakfast service was exceptional. I must commend Ron and Santiago for their attentive and friendly service, which made each morning a delight. The housekeeping staff also deserves a mention for their diligent work and great service throughout my stay.

There was no kettle in the room only a coffee machine, minor down fall!
I was apprehensive staying in this hotel without any personal recommendations, however i have to say our stay was nothing but superb! We had a king size room for 3 of us, it was so spacious, the room was exceptionally clean and i will be recommending this hotel to any of my friends or family visiting from Ireland. Location was perfect, just off Times Square, and the rooms were so quiet for the hotel being in such a busy central area. Honestly could not fault our stay and to top it off the staff were amazing and so accommodating. See you next time Hotel Luma

Urban rooms have basically no view, just the brick wall of the building behind the property.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with enthusiasm and warmth. They were able to accommodate our early arrival. Beds were comfortable, a great sized walk-in shower, close proximity to Times Square and Bryant Park, as well as subway connections.

Hotel was exceptional, very clean and very safe. Loved how there was always two/three individuals that greeted you at the door, 24/7. Amazing hotel location. Also must try their restaurant, AperiBar, exquisite food. Chefs kiss to the steak we ordered.

The room is on the small side, but I guess that is NY in a nutshell. Also there is no real communal spaces.
Upscale Hotel, quite new and very well thought from a functional perspective. Very well located and with friendly staf. Recommend also the restaurant downstairs.

Nothing about the hotel was negative for us
It was the perfect location for us. Close enough to the bright lights of Times Square in one direction but also close to the chilled vibe in Bryant Park. Excellent transport links close by, including a very short walk to Grand Central. It made it the perfect base for sightseeing. Rooms were very spacious, clean, well dressed and decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Don’t really have any negatives!
Location is near the centre of Times Square. Beneficial for shopping, Broadway and a short taxi ride from World Trade Centre. Staff were polite and helpful. Appreciated the atmosphere, bar and restaurant. Would stay again!
