Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCould’ve done with some kitchen specific towels/paper towels to dry after washing up, cloths and a spray to clean the bench, and a dish drying rack
The bed was very comfortable, clean and did the job! There was a lovely rock salt lamp on the bedside table, and it was right next to Balboa park

United StatesI didn’t like how loud it was You could hear the outside and the people upstairs from you. The last night we couldn’t sleep in because of whatever was happening upstairs.
I liked how basic and clean it was. Great for a quick cheap get away. Also the bed is so comfortable and big.

United KingdomSteps are narrow and it is hard to carry heavy luggage up and down. An elevator would be nice. More coffee and other provisions would be nice for people staying for a few days.
Excellent hosts, prompt courteous responses, clear instructions. Clean apartment, well equipped. Good location, close to downtown and Harbor drive.

CanadaThe property itself is great. The neighbourhood is not very pleasant to walk at night (perfectly fine during the day). Not that it’s unsafe, but there aren’t many people outside and there’s not much street light. If you’re driving that won’t be an issue
Very spacious apartment with a king size bed. Nice modern design

FinlandI'm reviewing my stay as a luxury apartment as this is how it is advertised. This is NOT a luxury apartment. The room was worn down; scratches on the floor and on furniture, toilet seat was broken (had to remove the lid to flush manually, there is no stove in the kitchen, the lock to the studio jammed so every time I left I had to put something between the door and the door frame so that I wouldn't be locked out. If the apartment hadn't been listed as "luxurious", I would be more generous with my review. Unfortunately I find the listing misleading.

SpainI didn't like that the room was not adequately equipped for cooking or working remotely. Additionally, the presence of vagrants made me feel unsafe, especially when traveling alone. The cleanliness of the room was also subpar, as it wasn't cleaned during our entire stay.
I liked the central location and its proximity to public transportation. Being able to walk to most places was convenient.

United StatesLocation is a little sketchy. I'm from SD and have stayed here before and I'm familiar with the area but it's adjacent to an abandoned building where homeless stay at night (5th avenue). Also under the SD airport flight path, which is ok as it's not that bad but still worth keeping in mind if you're sensitive to noise. Staff provides earplugs but still. There are sketchy people in the area. A an adolescent girl was undressed from the waist down urinating in front of the building during my stay and the guardian of this girl exited from inside the property building/parking implying she was staying here as well (?) which is unsettling to say the least. Doesn't feel completely safe. The unit itself is nice enough and they've tried outfit rooms in hotel-like fashion but the building itself is loud and you can easily hear noise from upstairs units. Elements of the unit itself feel cheap and not well-thought out for normal travelers, i.e. in large sized unit no table or desk or anywhere other than bed or couch to sit on. Didn't take this into consideration when booking but should have as I ended up really needing a desk or table to work at. The towels are cheap and thin. Two flimsy 0.25 cent hangers in the armoire, really you could have provided a couple more of higher quality as occasionally people do want to hang up e.g. business clothes. Tiny little cheap bath mat that doesn't soak up the water from the drippy shower that seems to spray all over the place. Could not operate the TV at all, control unit is pulling out from the wall and whatever streaming service was supposed to be provided wasn't working. So effectively no use of TV during the stay. No maid service of course either, so the two towels need to serve you for entirety of stay which gets old fast if you e.g. do any exercise and want to clean up more than once.
Room is updated and clean in a good area provided you're familiar with the location as it's central but also in a slightly sketchy corner of this neighborhood. Also right under the flight path, which can't be helped but does contribute to the overall feel. The building is new and the rooms themselves are updated and clean. Man who was onsite at checkin was great, very helpful and friendly and even assisted with my suitcase which was much appreciated.

NetherlandsWe had a few bags, there is no elevator, keep that in mind. Sometimes you hear the planes flying over, for us it was fine, did not wake up from it.
We had a very nice stay, the staff was friendly, everything went smooth with the self check-in, appt was clean, bed comfortable. Location is also really good, in the neighbourhood there is a nice brewery with very good pizza (pure projects). Gaslamp is 20 min or close with Uber (5min). San Diego zoo is also within 25min walking distance through Balboa Park, 5 min with car. The gated parking is also a plus.
